佛教代表團參訪不丹之旅

2025年11月 9-16日，斯里蘭卡文化教育基金會強帝瑪法師（Rev. Chandima）邀請佛教城成員共同參加不丹為慶祝第四世國王70歲生日所舉辦的世界和平大法會（Global Peace Festival），由佛教城社區協會協辦這次行程，參與代表單位有法禪寺、瑪倉苑、金剛寶座寺和加拿大學佛院等共68位代表參與盛會，並捐贈500份嬰兒必需用品，祈願家家幸福安康，不丹國家衛生部部長派代表出席受禮，由與會者當場將贈品發放給到場的孕婦及新生兒的媽媽們，捐赠活動詳見相關報導。

代表團共同發起供3000盞酥油燈，禮請釋證達教尊在帕羅最古老的寺廟之一的祈楚寺（Kyichu Lhakhang）主持酥油燈供燈法會，祈求世界和平，消災免難，正法弘開！祈楚寺乃藏王松贊干布所建造的108座鎮妖寺廟之一，建於公元638年，是不丹最神聖且具歷史意義的古寺之一。

不丹前國會議長Dasho Passang Dorji親臨帕羅機場歡迎佛教城代表團，繼而展開我們此趟尋訪當年蓮花生大師所留下的聖跡，以及探索夏宗法王如何將蓮花生大師的傳承教法在不丹弘揚開來。此趟行程參訪了多座寺廟，有廷布大佛山 (Buddha Dordenma, 21世紀)、普那卡宗(Punakha Dzong, 17世紀)、108塔 (Druk Wangyal Chaortens, 21世紀)、奇米寺 (Chimi Lhakhang, 15世紀）、祈旺寺 (Khewang Lhakhang, 15世紀）、崗底寺(Gangtey Monastery, 17世紀）等等。

最後亮點行程是攀登位高海拔 3,100 米的虎穴寺Tiger’s Nest（Taktsang, 8世紀），據説蓮花生大師曾飛來此地，在此降伏了惡魔，將佛教傳播到不丹，是不丹佛教的奠基者。全程海拔落差超过900 米，路徑陡峭，來回平均要7～8 個小時。聖地巡禮，伏藏加持，頂禮諸佛，無比法喜，無限感恩！每到一處都在提醒著我們：世事變遷，無常幻化，唯有佛陀正法才是永恆不變的真理！

不丹非凡之旅——與「雷龍之國」的殊勝連結

十一月份我有幸參加了一個大型而特別的參訪團，與許多師兄師姊一同前往不丹王國。雖然在出發前我並不認識大多數團員，但從一開始我就感受到大家熱情的歡迎，讓我立刻融入了這個充滿溫暖的團體。

那是一週充實而豐富的旅程，我們深深沉浸在這片土地濃厚的靈性氛圍中。我們參訪了許多神聖的寺廟，不僅深入瞭解這個國家與人民，更真正把他們放進心裡。此行最令人難忘的亮點之一，就是徒步登上虎穴寺，沿著陡峭的山路追隨蓮花生大士的足跡。

同時，我也要向整個籌備團隊獻上衷心的感謝。行程安排得極為完善，整體流程順暢無比，使我們能夠全心投入這段難得的體驗。這是一趟將在心中久久迴盪的旅程。（中譯）

A Delegation of Buddhist Town visited Bhutan

At the invitation of Rev. Chandima of the Sri Lanka Cultural and Educational Foundation, members of the Buddhist Town joined a delegation to Bhutan to participate in the Global Peace Prayer Festival, held in celebration of the 70th birthday of the Fourth King of Bhutan.The trip was co-organized by the Buddhist Town Community Association, with participating organizations including Fa Chan Temple, Macang Yuan, Holy Vajrasana Temple, and the Canadian Institute of Buddhist Studies, among others. A total of 68 representatives took part in this event.

As part of the visit, the delegation donated 500 sets of essential baby supplies, offering prayers for happiness, health, and well-being for every family. The director of the Bhutanese Ministry of Health attended the ceremony to receive the donation. Then the donated items were distributed on-site to pregnant women and mothers with newborns by those who attended this trip. The delegation jointly sponsored the offering of 3,000 butter lamps and respectfully invited Master Shih Zhengda Jiaozun to preside over a 3,000 Butter Lamp Offering Ceremony at Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Paro. The prayers were dedicated to world peace, the removal of obstacles and averting of disasters, and the flourishing and propagation of True Buddha Dharma. Kyichu Lhakhang is one of the 108 demon-subduing temples built by King Songtsen Gampo. It was established in 638 CE, making it one of Bhutan’s most sacred and historically significant temples.

Dasho Passang Dorji, former Speaker of the National Assembly of Bhutan, formally welcomed the Buddhist Town delegation at Paro International Airport. Thereafter, the delegation embarked on an amazing journey to visit the sacred sites associated with Guru Padmasambhava and to explore how Zhabdrung Rinpoche further propagated and established Guru Padmasambhava’s lineage teachings throughout Bhutan.

During this journey, the delegation visited many major temples and sacred sites, including Buddha Dordenma in Thimphu (21st century), Punakha Dzong (17th century), the Druk Wangyal Chortens (the so-called 108 Stupas, 21st century), Chimi Lhakhang (15th century), Khewang Lhakhang (15th century), and Gangtey Monastery (17th century) among others.

The final highlight featured the ascent to the legendary Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang, 8th century), perched at an elevation of 3,100 meters above sea level. According to tradition, Guru Padmasambhava is said to have flown to this sacred site, where he subdued demons and subsequently spread Buddhism throughout Bhutan, becoming the foundational figure of Bhutanese Buddhism.

With an altitude gain of over 900 meters and steep mountain paths, it takes 7-8 hours for a round-trip hike. This pilgrimage to sacred sites, receiving blessings, paying homage to the Buddhas, and experiencing profound spiritual inspiration, was filled with immeasurable Dharma joy and boundless gratitude. At every place along the way, it felt as though the land itself was reminding the delegation:

All worldly phenomena are ever-changing and impermanent; only the true Dharma of the Buddha remains eternally unchanged.

An Extraordinary Journey to Bhutan – Connection in the Land of the Thunder Dragon –– by Gongjue Tuji Rinpoche from Vajrasana Temple

In November, I had the privilege of being part of a large and extraordinary tour group. Together with my Dharma brothers and sisters, we visited the Kingdom of Bhutan. Although I did not know most of the participants before the trip, I felt warmly welcomed from the very first moment and truly felt like an integral part of this community.

It was an incredibly eventful week in which we immersed ourselves deeply in the spirituality of the country. We visited many holy temples and had the opportunity not only to get to know the land and its people but to truly take them into our hearts. An unforgettable highlight was our hike to the Tiger’s Nest, where we followed the footsteps of Padmasambhava along the steep paths.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to the organizing team. Everything was excellently prepared, and the entire schedule ran completely smoothly, allowing us to fully engage in this special experience. It was a journey that will resonate for a long time

The Beauty of Autumn at Holy Heavenly Lake

The tranquil autumn scenery at Holy Heavenly Lake is like a painting. Yet, behind the serene landscape, our application work has not paused for even a single moment. We continue to work diligently—communicating with the city government, revising documents, and supplementing drawings.

Although many delays have resulted from the city’s own processes, some plans submitted three years ago were shelved, causing materials to expire. To prevent further setbacks, we agreed to undertake additional work, including redoing the traffic study and recalculating the wastewater treatment design, to meet the requirements of newly appointed officials. A large set of supplementary documents was submitted in early August and is now under review. We sincerely hope that this year will bring substantial progress. May the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas bless all beings so that the collective causes and conditions mature swiftly, and may the construction of the Buddhist Town begin soon! With heartfelt gratitude!

English Dharma Study Program Gradually Expands — All Are Welcome to Join

Since mid-August, when Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche began leading English-language Buddhist study sessions at Holy Heavenly Lake, some KAC youth have shown interest and joined the meditation session and below is a short reflection from Livy Zou, who participated in the recent retreat. Hope his sharing will inspire more people to join and receive true Dharma benefits.

“I really enjoyed this retreat because it provided the right environment for me to go through my own thoughts, and put my entire day into Buddhism rather than tiredly learning after work. I had the time to try meditating and was able to improve a lot. Thanks to Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche’s daily Dharma classes in the evenings. I found that I really enjoyed staying silent because I was able to discern my own attachments and feelings and catch faster if I am not doing something good.”

The next Holy Heavenly Lake English Sutra Reading Session with the Rinpoche will be held on Sunday, October 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Everyone is welcome!

Assisting Myanmar Earthquake Victims with Prefab Housing

From June through August, the Buddhist Town Community Association worked with the Mandalay Yunnan Association of Myanmar to successfully complete a fundraising campaign for earthquake victims. Together, we sponsored 40 prefabricated temporary housing units, which were swiftly delivered to the disaster area and assembled.

As of now, 25 units have been completed and are already in use by displaced families, while the remaining houses are still under construction. We sincerely pray that more victims will soon encounter the True Dharma, be freed from fear and uncertainty, and walk onto the path toward peace and happiness.

Invitation to 2026 Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town Annual Celebration and Las Vegas & Northern California Tour

Following the great enthusiasm for this year’s HHL June event, which combined visits to temples and art museum in northern and central California; many participants suggest continuing the program next year and adding a visit to Las Vegas. To better meet everyone’s need, we warmly welcome your feedback and suggestions.

The tentative schedule for the 2026 event is as follows:

Friday, July 3 Holy Heavenly Lake Annual Celebration (One-Day Event): Morning: World Wiser-ball Friendship Tournament Afternoon: Cultural exchange and outdoor meditation Evening: Releasing of prayer lotus lamps. All-day: festival with booths
Friday Evening, July 3 After the evening activities, a charter bus will depart for Las Vegas. On Saturday, July 4, participants will visit Benevolence Temple, and then return to Los Angeles.
Saturday–Sunday, July 4–5 Northern California temples and museum visits. Depart from Los Angeles on the morning of July 4 and return on July 5.

HHL Buddhist Town Preparatory Committee and United Service Center will coordinate arrangements according to participants’ needs. We hope that, combined with the annual celebration, these activities will offer everyone a richer and more meaningful cultural and spiritual experience.

聖天湖入秋美景如畫

安靜的聖天湖美景如畫，可是忙碌的申請工作沒有一分一秒停過，仍然馬不停蹄地與市政府溝通，修改文件，加補圖面。雖然很多是由於市政府本身的延誤，很多三年前已提出的計畫被擱置造成資料過期，但為了不被再次延誤，我們也同意了增加工作重新進行交通調查和重新進行有關污水處理的計算設計，以滿足新任官員的要求。八月初補充交付了大量資料，目前尚在審理之中。希望我們今年能夠有長足突破，祈求佛菩薩們加持眾生共業共力因緣成熟，佛教城建築能早日啟建，無上感恩！

英語學佛課程逐漸展開，歡迎更多人參與學習

自從扎西卓瑪仁波切自8月中開始來到聖天湖帶動英語學習，有更多的KAC 同學參與仁波切所舉辦的禪坐修行,以下即是Livy Zou參與禪修的短短心得，希望能帶動更多的人參與，獲得真正的法益。

“非常喜歡這次的禪修營，因為它提供了一個很好的環境，讓我能靜下來觀照自己的思緒，並能把整天的時間都用在佛法上，而不是像平常那樣在下班後疲憊地學習。在這段時間裡，我有機會嘗試靜坐禪修，並且在卓瑪仁波切每天晚上的法課中獲得了很大的進步。我發現自己很喜歡保持沉默，因為在安靜中我能更清楚地察覺自己的執著與情緒，能更快地發現自己是否做得不夠好。”

援助緬甸地震災民臨時救難安置

佛教城協會協助“緬甸瓦城雲南同鄉會”，於6月至8月期間，圓滿完成為緬甸災民募集捐贈的活動，成功認購40棟臨時安置組合屋，並迅速將資源送達災區，投入搭建工作。目前已有25間組合屋順利完成搭建，並正式啟用供災民入住。其餘組合屋仍在施工中。祈願更多災民能早日接觸正法，脫離恐懼與不安，邁向幸福之路。

敬邀 2026 聖天湖年度盛會暨拉斯維加斯、中北加參訪行程

鑑於今年六月聖天湖活動結合中北加參訪寺院及藝術館，獲得大家熱烈迴響，很多人建議明年繼續舉行並增加前往拉斯維加斯行程。為了改善種種安排更符合大家的期望，我們希望能聽到您的回饋建議。

目前聖天湖2026年活動暫定行程如下：

（1）7月3日（週五）｜聖天湖年度活動（為期一天）

上午為世界高智爾球友誼賽；下午為戶外禪修活動與文化會展座談；傍晚施放祈願蓮花燈；全天遊園活動

（2）7月3日（週五）聖天湖傍晚活動結束後，安排大巴從聖天湖出發，前往拉斯維加斯，次日7月4日（週六）慈善寺參訪結束後返回洛杉磯

（3）7月4日（週六）至7月5日（週日）中北加參訪行程。4日晨自洛杉磯出發前往中北加，5日返回洛杉磯

Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town Joins Hands with Compassionate Forces to Aid Myanmar Earthquake Victims, Donating 40 Prefabricated Homes

During the June annual event, Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town introduced the post-March 28 earthquake relief work in Myanmar carried out by one of our members, the Buddhist Shande Wenxiu Association of Taiwan. The effort immediately received widespread attention and response. Through the efforts of the Buddhist Shande Wenxiu Association we were able to connect with the Mandalay Yunnan Association in Myanmar. Jointly, we started the emergency shelter project to send help to the victims.

We raised funds for a total of 40 prefabricated homes in a very short time. HHL Buddhist Town Association, together with Macang Foundation, Benevolence Temple, Bodhi Wonderful Dharma Center, International Buddhist Bodhi Association, many members of Buddhist Town, Honghu platform, and kind-hearted donors including Audrey Tang, Xiuzhen Li, Alain Uboldi & Yuhua Chen, Juanlie Luo, Jinyuan Wu, Amy Chiang & Chintao Chen, Julie & Richard Chen, Yuying Lu, Chiawen Liu, Li Liu, Winnie Peng, Danny Chiang, Lizhu Chen, etc., jointly provided urgently needed shelter and basic living arrangements for the disaster victims. Sister Wu of Buddhist Shande Wenxiu Association visited Mandalay herself and presented the Tara Praising Sutra to the victims, bringing them compassion and spiritual support. They are always in our hearts!

Rinpoche Zhaxi Zhuoma Holds Monthly Reading Sessions at Holy Heavenly Lake

For Westerners, it is often difficult to study the profound teachings of His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III. Most of the teachings have not yet been approved for publication. Fortunately, Rinpoche Zhaxi Zhuoma, the Abbess of Holy Vajrasana Temple in Sanger, CA, has access to a preliminary English translation of Expounding the Truth through the Heart Sutra and has been permitted to recite it for her students. Out of her great compassion, she makes the long drive to Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town every month to recite the precious teaching for English speakers. At present, this is the only way Western students can hear this precious discourse.

The August session was held in a cabin by the Holy Heavenly Lake, where participants could enjoy the tranquility of the lake and watch ducks and geese gliding peacefully across the water. While receiving the transmission of Dharma wisdom, they were also able to savor the beauty of being immersed in nature. (by Kent L.)

聖天湖佛教城攜手多方善心力量援助緬甸地震災民，捐贈 40 套組合屋

聖天湖佛教城在6月年度活動時介紹了臺灣佛教善德聞修會在緬甸進行的328地震災後救濟工作，引起了很多關注迴響。感謝聞修會吳師姐的協助聯繫了緬甸瓦城雲南同鄉會，共同發起援助災民臨時安置行動。在短短時間內，募集了共40套組合屋，由聖天湖佛教城協會及瑪倉基金會、慈善寺、菩提妙法中心、國際佛教菩提協會及多位佛教城居士，鴻鵠平台以善心人士包括Audrey Tang, Xiuzhen Li, Alain Uboldi & Yuhua Chen, Juanlie Luo, Jinyuan Wu, Amy Chiang & Chintao Chen, Julie & Richard Chen, Yuying Lu, Chiawen Liu, Li Liu, Winnie Peng, Danny Chiang, Lizhu Chen 共同參與，為災民們提供急需的生活庇護。此外，佛教城會員更親赴災區，向災民贈送《度母禮讚經》與善款，不僅傳遞物質援助，更將佛法的慈悲與智慧帶入苦難之中。透過正法的弘揚，幫助緬甸眾生明信因果、趨吉避凶，引導社會走向和平與繁榮。感謝所有善心人士的熱情參與與無私付出, 讓這場跨國善舉得以圓滿成就。

扎西卓瑪仁波切於聖天湖舉行每月誦讀會

對西方人來說，想學習重要的佛陀法音是很困難的，因為它們尚未被翻譯成英文。幸好金剛寶座寺住持扎西卓瑪仁波切擁有《藉心經說真諦》的英文初譯本，並獲許向她的學生恭誦此經書。每個月她不辭辛勞地從中加州聖格市（Sanger）開車來到聖天湖佛教城，為講英語的學員恭誦這部圓滿的法義。目前，這是西方學生聆聽此説法的唯一途徑。課程在聖天湖旁的小木屋舉行，您可以享受湖邊的寧靜，觀賞鴨子和鵝在水中悠然游動，隨著佛法的傳授進而增長智慧，更能享受融入週邊優美的大自然中。（Kent 隨筆）

向六月活動志工們致上最誠摯的感謝

今年六月佛教城一年一度的盛會中，熱心志工們付出寶貴的時間、力量與熱忱，讓活動進行圓滿順利，共享這場溫情的盛典。

首先，遠道而來的白云團隊十位志工，於活動前一週就已先抵達協助整理環境。還有，由肖師兄帶領的幾位志工，也是未及休整時差，便於參加洛杉磯法會的次日隨即趕赴聖天湖，與徐師姐等人一同投入活動前的準備工作。徐師姐除長年在聖天湖投入義工服務，更慷慨提供車輛，全程協助物資運送，是活動不可或缺的中堅力量。另外，加拿大義工們再次跨越千里，展現全力支持與配合的默契。你們不辭辛勞的精神，令人深受感動！

來自洛杉磯本地和外地的 KAC 青年志工們也一起肩負起各項任務，從清晨至夜幕，全程守護每個細節，從搬運、佈置、清潔、維護，堅持到最後一刻才離場，展現出令人敬佩的責任感與奉獻精神。

餐飲方面，感恩從舊金山趕來的方師姐等八位，以及王師兄及其友人們的不辭辛勞，他們不僅提前規劃採買食材與器具，更在兩日活動中，持續不斷地為大家服務。闕大姐團隊一如往常親自為大家製作可口涼麵，加上在地師兄姐們所提供的水果、果凍、果汁、奶茶、爆米花及甜品等，無比的溫馨！

還有很多我們要感謝的，有幫忙接待守候的，有現場熱烈義賣的，有默默參與的，更有來自世界各地高智爾球隊的參與，給年度聚會到來活力。何師兄伉儷一如既往肩負起音控，為整場活動做最好的銜接。還要感謝攝影組Nelson、高師姐等一組人的共同參與，以鏡頭捕捉瞬間，為佛教城留下精彩珍貴的記錄！

一切的成功與圓滿是所有參與者的共力所成，是所有人的真誠發心與實際行動，讓佛教城成為匯聚善心、傳遞喜悅和促進交流的所在。今年佛教城建設成員的介紹與交流，KAC青年的學佛分享，來自香港賴師姐多年做慈善的經驗分享，台灣泰國吳師姐328緬甸震災捐助的報告，每一份善念與努力，都爲彼此帶來激勵與榜樣！祈願福慧增長，光明長照，來年聖天湖再聚！

Dear Buddhist Town owners, members, and friends, wishing you all auspiciousness and good fortune!

Highlights of this year’s annual gathering at the Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town included the introduction and sharing by development committee members and KAC youth. Cherry Lai from Hong Kong and Dong Dong Wu from Taiwan and Thailand reported on their March 28 Myanmar earthquake relief efforts. Every act of compassion and contribution became an inspiration and example for us all.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our June Event Volunteers!

Our dedicated volunteers generously offered their time, energy, and enthusiasm, ensuring the event’s smooth success, and allowing everyone to share in this warm and joyous celebration.

First and foremost, we extend our deepest gratitude to the Baiyun Team of ten volunteers, who arrived a full week before the event to help prepare and beautify the grounds. In addition, several volunteers led by Brother Xiao, despite having just attended the Los Angeles Dharma Assembly, came immediately to Holy Heavenly Lake to join in preparations. Sister Xu generously provided her vehicle to transport supplies, once again making her an indispensable cornerstone of the event. We are equally grateful to our Canadian volunteers, who once again demonstrated flawless teamwork and unwavering commitment!

From dawn until dusk, the KAC youth volunteers attended to every detail—transporting, setting up, cleaning, and providing onsite maintenance and support—embodying an admirable sense of responsibility and devotion.

On the food service side, we are grateful to Sister Fang, Brother Wang and their friends, for their tireless dedication. They not only planned and purchased ingredients and equipment but also continuously served everyone throughout the two-day event. Sister Que’s team, as always, lovingly prepared delicious cold noodles, complemented by the offerings of local brothers and sisters—fruits, jellies, juices, milk tea, popcorn, and desserts—creating a truly heartwarming and joyful experience for all!

There are still so many more people to be acknowledged—those who helped with reception and hospitality, enthusiastically ran the charity booths on site, and quietly contributed behind the scenes. Special gratitude also goes to the Wiser-ball teams from around the world, whose participation brought energy and vitality to this year’s gathering. As always, Brother Ho and his wife faithfully took charge of the sound system, ensuring smooth transitions throughout the event. Thanks to Nelson, Natty, Terry and the team, whose lenses contributed a vivid record of the event.

Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town – Annual June Gathering

Buddhist Town’s annual event started with an unprecedented outdoor meditation session by the lake on June 3. Ven. Dharma Master Zhengda led nearly 300 attendees. The beautiful setting was prepared by Fa Chan Temple following the traditional Chinese Chan-hall layout. Right before the session was to begin, a light rain suddenly fell, sweeping and gently purifying the ground. A rainbow appeared in the southern sky, casting a golden glow and suffusing the area with a feeling of otherworldliness. People from across the world enjoyed the meditation immensely. We’ll prepare this event early next year so everyone will have a chance to fully enjoy the joy of Chan.

June 4 – Exhibitions, Wiser Tournament & Celebrations

Final preparations began early around the big tent, as participants set up exhibition stands and marked out the Wiser fields. One after another, participating teams from around the world put up panels covered with beautiful renderings. A cheerful and bustling joy of reunion filled the air! By around 8:30 a.m., Wiser teams from eight countries and regions arrived and started spirited matches. We invited Mr. Holland, our former mayor and current Buddhist Town advisor, to present awards. He was amazed by our international teams and the intriguing team strategies employed in the games! As the festival fair and exhibitions reached full swing, members of Buddhist Town Community Association (BTCA) from all Phase 1 organizations—including Ven. Juehui Fashi of the World Buddhism Association Headquarters (WBAH), Dharma Master Zhengda of Fa Chan Temple, and Ven. Songjie Rinpoche of Macang Yuan—arrived and were warmly greeted by the gathering crowd and guests. BTCA presented a copy of the Complete Canon of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s Teachings to Nagananda International Institute for Buddhist Studies (NIIBS), to aid in spreading the true Dharma, and to welcome practitioners of Sri Lanka Theravada teachings to join the Buddhist Town. Rev. Chandima of the Sri Lanka Buddhist Culture & Education Foundation presented miniature golden stupas to WBAH and members of the BTCA. Present at the event were Councilmember Mr. Gregg, lead architect Mr. Steeno, and former mayor and Buddhist Town advisor Mr. Holland, together with representatives and sangha members from around the world. All enjoyed warm conversations, exchange of ideas, and group photos!

Panel Discussions, Mayor’s visit and Offerings of Light

Afternoon programs started with panel discussions in both English and Chinese. Phase I teams introduced their projects and activities around the world, followed by Rev. Chandima and Rinpoche Zhaxi Zhuoma of Holy Vajrasana Temple, each of whom reported their future plans at the Buddhist Town. BTCA shared updates on online learning and service programs, such as the KAC youth program, United Services, and T-CAT English materials, and welcomed further global participation. The third panel focused on community services and disatister relief efforts to which our members have been devoting themselves. Special thanks to Hong Kong’s Nian Ci Foundation, which shared successful experiences in community service, and to Taiwan’s Virtuous Dharma Society, which reported on their relief missions in Myanmar. Mayor Allison Lee arrived in the afternoon and addressed the gathering, expressing her enthusiastic support for the Project. She praised the beautiful vision presented by the Buddhist Town, and expressed amazement at the displayed designs. Who could have imagined what a “Buddhist Town” would look like? We feel deep gratitude to our Buddha Master for bestowing such a wondrous world upon us and all sentient beings.

The day’s event came to a joyous conclusion as participants gathered around the lotus lantern, praying and singing together, and releasing the lotus wishing lamps in the lake. Watching the lamps floating slowly toward the center of the lake beneath the setting sun, people exclaimed in joy at the beauty, "Who could have imagined this!" people proclaimed. May the world be free from wars. May we be free from fear. And may we spread light and beauty to every corner of the world!

聖天湖佛教城六月年度盛會

6月3日下午在聖天湖畔舉辦了第一次禪修活動啟動今年聖天湖活動，由證達教尊主持，近300人參加。法禪寺比丘按中國禪宗道場規制佈置了莊嚴壇場。臨開場前空中突然飄下小雨灑淨壇場，一道彩虹落於南方天空，滿天霞光，如進入另一時空殊勝異常！可惜禪坐時間較短，大眾意猶未盡，明年希望能早早安排讓大家飽嘗禪悅！禪修後大家忙著紮營起營火，約有30多人留下來露營，圍著營火天南地北，共享聖天湖之夜，更是一番新的體驗！

6月4日早早營地就忙碌地改裝展覽座談會場，世界各地送來各個單位的設計圖一一展現出來，處處充盈著團聚的興奮與喜悅！8:30左右，來自8個國家地區的高智爾球隊陸續報到，啟動球賽，園遊會也熱鬧展開。今年特別邀請佛教城顧問前市長市議員Holland先生來頒獎，Holland先生不但對球賽的國際化大為吃驚，更讚嘆高智爾球的團隊謀略！佛教城協會暨首期建設的代表們包括世界佛教總部代表覺慧法師，法禪寺證達教尊，瑪倉院松杰大德也相繼蒞臨會場，和大眾交流，並與斯里蘭卡代表團相互致意贈禮！佛教城協會敬贈南無羌佛經藏總集與斯里蘭卡龍喜大學，利益眾生！斯國代表團致贈莊嚴金塔予佛教總部及佛教城協會！與會的現任市議員Gregg先生，主建築師Steeno 先生，Holland先生等人，與各國代表及各地僧眾大家相談甚歡合影留念！

座談會於中午時分以中英文同步進行，先是由各首期寺院介紹佛教城建設及各地活動，斯里蘭卡佛教基金會強帝瑪長老和金剛寶座寺扎西卓瑪仁波且也都相繼報告了未來在佛教城的規劃設計。佛教城協會接著報告了已展開的多項網路學習交流計畫，包括青年學佛、聯合服務、英文教材等等工作，都希望能帶動世界各地更多的人參與！第三場是各地社會救濟與救災行動，非常感謝香港念慈基金會分享成功的社會關懷經驗，和台灣佛教善德聞修會報告去緬甸救災並宣揚度母禮讚經幫助災民等等的分享！

現任市長Lee女士也特地趕來致詞支持，她非常驚嘆於佛教城所展現出的美好願景！百聞不如一見，確實，誰能想像“佛教城”是什麼模樣？感恩佛陀恩師賜予我們及所有眾生如此美妙的世界！圍著蓮花寶燈，在共同祈禱與合唱中大家依序默默地將祈願水燈放入湖中，在夕陽中飄入湖心。沈浸在美好幸福中，聽到有人不約而同地讚嘆著：「誰能想像得到（如此美好）？」願這美妙的一切如願早日實現，願世界遠離紛爭，願人心遠離恐懼，願我們共同把這一切光明與美好帶到每一個角落！

感恩！

所有這一切都是大家共同努力的成果，從默默除草修樹，企劃聯絡溝通安排，採購備餐，現場清潔，搭棚佈置搬排桌椅，全都是來自世界各地大家自動自發地一氣呵成，不可思議！這就是我們的家園，我們永遠的家園。在下期月刊中，我們將一一感謝所有參加的義工，所有臨時的幫手，及許多匿名的小天使默默地貢獻著！我們一點一滴的努力都將累沙成塔，締造聖天湖佛教城，早日實現！

斯里蘭卡代表團參加世界佛教總部年度盛會

5月28日，斯里蘭卡龍喜國際佛教大學的創辦人強帝瑪法師帶領了隨行共七位，五位長老法師及兩位居士，蒞臨洛杉磯參加世界佛教總部一年一度的盛會。此行五位長老比丘分別來自泰國、印度、臺北、斯里蘭卡，均為飽學佛教典籍之教授及住持長老們。強帝瑪長老於5/29日接受訪問時，回答了對當年拜見南無羌佛時情況的提問，在等待的三天中他不斷修法祈請，直到第四天早上終於接到通知同意接見。他報告南無羌佛他修的是慈悲經，行持四無量心一切都為了利益眾生，沒有煩惱！南無羌佛告訴他，他只要是為了利益眾生而做的事一定會成功，需要佛陀師父幫助時，只要想到佛陀師父，佛陀師父就會幫助他，南無羌佛給他未來弘法事業做了大加持！從此之後，他的大學建設順利地展開，所行佛事也無往不利，他也如是勸導大家，修慈悲經利益眾生，沒有煩惱！此誠為《了義經》之實踐者。一切不執，行於四無量心而不染，無無明愚癡煩惱，不為業力所縛，即能轉入了義菩提！釋迦佛陀南無羌佛如是說一味，我等行持之所皈依處！

法師此行並將其於佛教城所將興建的佛寶舍利寶塔設計圖帶來，並贈送世界佛教總部及佛教城各一尊佛塔及介紹佛塔的設計說明，屆時都將於佛教城展出。

5/30及5/31日，來自世界各地1200餘佛弟子參加迎經藏總集及佛誕法會，現場莊嚴殊勝，歡欣之情溢然！

佛教城六月活動準備

今年佛教城活動當日邀請了市長和市議員參加，及主建築師與地方人士。今年除了第一期建設設計圖展出外，第二期的諸多設計也將邀請參加展出，大家有機會觀摩交流。6/3日傍晚舉辦第一次戶外禪修會。 6/4日早上高智爾球友誼賽及文化會展活動，園遊會，下午舉辦三場座談會，特別邀請世界佛教總部，法禪寺，瑪倉院第一期佛教城協會成員參加，4:30 施放祈願蓮花燈，祈願世界和平。6/5日參訪金剛寶座寺，6/6日參訪瑪倉寺，華藏寺，及參觀美國國際藝術館，期盼我們的再相聚！

Sri Lankan Delegation Participates in World Buddhism Association Headquarters' Annual Event

On May 28, Venerable Chandima, founder of the Nagananda International Institute for Buddhist Studies in Sri Lanka, led a delegation of seven, including five senior monastic elders and two lay practitioners, to Los Angeles to attend the annual event hosted by the World Buddhism Association Headquarters. The five elder monks in the group came from Thailand, India, Taiwan, and Sri Lanka; all are highly learned in Buddhist scriptures and hold positions as professors and abbots. During an interview on May 29, Ven. Chandima recounted when he was received several years ago by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. He shared that during the three-day wait before he was received, he practiced Dharma and prayed nonstop. On the fourth morning, he was informed that His Holiness would receive him. He said that he reported to Buddha Master that he practiced the Metta Sutta and upheld the Four Limitless States of Mind, dedicating everything to benefiting sentient beings without afflictions. His Holiness told him that all his endeavor would succeed as long as he engaged in activities to benefit sentient beings. Also, whenever he needed Buddha Master’s help, he only had to think of Him, and Buddha Master would assist him. Buddha Master gave him a profound empowerment for his future Buddha Dharma propagation endeavors. After that, the construction of the first private Buddhist university in Sri Lanka progressed smoothly, and his Dharma endeavors have been successful in all respects.

Ven. Chandima encourages everyone likewise to practice the Metta Sutta to benefit sentient beings and live without afflictions. He is truly an implementer of the Sutra on Ultimate Truth (Liao Yi Jing)—one, who has no attachments, abides in the Four Limitless States of Mind without defilement, is free from ignorance and afflictions, and thus gradually frees himself from karmic forces and enters the path to the ultimate stage of bodhi. Shakyamuni Buddha and H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III have spoken with one voice—this is the path we rely upon in our practice.

During this trip, Ven. Chandima also brought the designs of the Buddhist stupa of sacred relics to be constructed at Buddhist Town. He presented miniature stupa sculptures to both the World Buddhism Association Headquarters and the Buddhist Town, with instructions on how the full-scale stupas are to be built. All will be displayed on June 4 at the festival.

On May 30 and 31, more than 1200 Buddhist disciples from around the world participated in the Grand Sutra Welcoming Ceremony and Buddha’s Birthday Celebration. The atmosphere was solemn and magnificent, filled with joy and devotion.

Preparations for June Activities

This year, the mayor and city council members have been invited to attend the Buddhist Town event, along with the chief architect and local community members. In addition to exhibiting the Phase I construction design plans, many of the Phase II designs will also be invited for exhibition, offering everyone an opportunity for observation and exchanging ideas.

On the evening of June 3, the first outdoor meditation session will be held.

On the morning of June 4, cultural exhibition activities, a fair, and a Wiser Ball friendship match will take place. In the afternoon, three forums will be held, with special invitations extended to the World Buddhism Association Headquarters, Fa Chan Temple, Macang Yuan, Phase I members of the Buddhist Town Community Association. At 4:30 p.m., lotus lanterns will be released to pray for world peace. On June 5, there will be a visit to the Holy Vajrasana Temple.

On June 6, visits to Macang Monastery and Huazang Si will take place, along with a tour of the International Art Museum of America. We look forward to meeting again!

Holy Heavenly Lake April 6 Spring Landscape Maintenance Activity

April 6 brought clear skies and fresh air after the spring rains with vibrant greenery full of life. It was the perfect time for the annual spring pruning and maintenance! Early in the morning, members of the fourfold assembly gathered by the lakeside. One group focused on trimming and caring for the trees and branches, while another group began constructing a temporary lotus nursery. Lotuses require division and propagation around June each year. We hope that this nursery will allow for more rhizome propagation. This is a brand-new experimental effort. Let’s wait and see how it turns out!

Visit of Rinpoche Zhaxi Zhuoma from Holy Vajrasana Temple

On April 3, Rinpoche Zhaxi Zhuoma from Holy Vajrasana Temple visited Holy Heavenly Lake to prepare for the relaunch of the English Dharma study program at the Buddhist Town, scheduled to begin in mid-June. This is truly wonderful news for local individuals who wish to learn the Dharma. We are deeply grateful to Rinpoche for undertaking the journey and for her tireless efforts to benefit English-speaking practitioners!

Ongoing Communication with the City

The preparation of supplemental documentation for the infrastructure planning and design of the Phase 1 projects, along with ongoing meetings with the city government, have been progressing tirelessly, day and night. On April 16, a major meeting was held at City Hall with 16 attendees, including the city manager and heads of various departments. Disappointingly, many new and existing city officials seemed unaware of much of the studies previously submitted regarding the project. During the meeting, Buddhist Town’s legal team, lead architect, and engineers responded to each issue with detailed reports and drawings. The good news is that following the meeting, city officials showed a notable shift in attitude. Three follow-up meetings were held to focus on three key issues. In June, supplemental documents will be submitted based on the agreements negotiated. Throughout this process, we have faced biases, misunderstandings, and skepticism — truly disheartening. Perhaps it is hard for some to believe that any project could exist without the motive of any financial gain. But we remain steadfast in our original aspiration and have reassured the city that we are here to build something beautiful for all to share and enjoy — this is our mission and our goal, and we will not walk away. We are here to stay!

Preparations underway for Colorful June Events at Holy Heavenly Lake

This year’s annual gathering events will begin on the afternoon of June 3. Starting at 5:00 PM, there will be an outdoor BBQ, followed at 7:30 PM by a meditation session led by Zhengda Jiaozun, lasting approximately one hour. Camping is welcome that evening for those who register in advance. On June 4, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a Wiser Friendship Tournament will take place, alongside a full-day bazaar. Beginning at noon, a panel discussion series and exhibition will be held, featuring three themed discussions: 1) Introduction to the development of Buddhist Town; 2) Buddhist Town’s online activity & outreach programs 3) Member-led charitable and relief initiatives. At 4:30 PM, participants will gather to pray for world peace and release lotus prayer lanterns. Every effort and event is rooted in our mission to benefit all beings — may there be peace on earth, may disasters be dispelled, and may minds be awakened toward a harmonious and compassionate world. We welcome people of all races, backgrounds, and beliefs to join us in building a future of equanimity and mutual support.

聖天湖4月6日春季景觀維護活動

4月6日天清氣爽正是春雨過後綠意盎然，又到了一年一度春交修剪枝葉的時候了！一早四眾弟子齊聚湖畔，一組人忙著照顧枝椏，而另一組人打造一個臨時的蓮花培育池。蓮花在每年6月間都需要進行分株繁殖，蓮花小組希望藉由培育池能在六月間多多培育一些根莖。這是一項全新而又實驗性的嘗試，讓我們拭目以待！

金剛寶座寺扎西卓瑪仁波切來訪

4月3日，金剛寶座寺扎西卓瑪仁波切一行來訪聖天湖，籌備在6月中開始於佛教城重新帶領英語佛法學習課程。此舉對於一些本地想學習佛法的人士真是一項福音，非常感恩仁波切高齡而不辭辛勞跋涉，利益英語人士！

佛教城與市府持續進行審查溝通

佛教城的硬體規劃設計補充文件及與市府的會議溝通正日夜馬不停蹄地進行中。4月16日在市府舉行了16人的大會議，市經理及各部會負責人均參加會議逐項討論。令人失望的是市府很多新舊官員對此項目此前提出的很多資料竟茫然不知，佛教城團隊的律師及項目主導建築師和工程師，會中一一提出報告書及圖面答辯據理力爭。好消息是，會後市政府官員態度大有轉變，持續針對3項關鍵性課題連開3次會議，由佛教城專家們逐個突破市府的負面說詞。6月間將依所達成的協議再次補充文件。過程中，我們面對了不少搪塞失職，但更多偏見誤解與懷疑，實令人扼腕！可能在他們一生中從沒有聽聞過不為圖利的項目，而無法置信吧？我們只能抱著不變的初衷信念，向市府保證，我們不是為汲營獲利而為，我們只求建設一個美好的項目帶給所有人享用，這是我們的志業，我們是不會放棄離開的！

聖天湖6月豐富多彩活動準備工作

Visit of Ven. Dr. Bodagama Chandima Thera from Sri Lanka

On March 10th, Ven. Chandima, founder of the Nagananda International Institute for Buddhist Studies in Sri Lanka, an institution that embraces the teachings of all three vehicles of Buddhism (www.niibs.lk) — visited the United States for a week-long trip. Twenty years ago, during a previous visit to the United States, Ven. Chandima Thera personally paid respects to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and received teachings.

Upon his arrival, he first visited the Holy Site to chant sutras and pay homage, followed by visits to the H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum, Holy Miracles Temple, Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town, and then the Benevolence Temple in Las Vegas. During his visit, Ven. Chandima presented a statue of the Buddha expounding the Dharma to the Buddhist Town, symbolizing another auspicious devotion for the spreading of true Buddha Dharma in the Western world. Ven. Chandima will lead the Sri Lanka Buddhist Culture and Education Foundation — rooted in the Three-Vehicle teachings — to build a sacred Buddhist Relic Pagoda at the Buddhist Town. The Foundation will also bring a sapling from the original Bodhi Tree and the Pāli Tripiṭaka scriptures to Buddhist Town. Going forward, the Buddhist Town will assist in establishing a Dharma Center at Nagananda International Institute for Buddhist studies. We will also invite the university's professors to join the effort in translating the Dharma discourses and sutras of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, so that the true Buddhist teaching will be available to the English-speaking world as soon as possible.

Ven. Chandima will lead a delegation at the end of May to participate in the Buddha's Birthday Dharma Assembly organized by the World Buddhism Association Headquarters. From June 3rd to 4th, the delegation will attend activities at Buddhist Town and introduce the project planned at the Buddhist Town. From June 5th to 6th, they will join a pilgrimage event at Holy Vajrasana Temple in Sanger, CA. While there, Ven. Chandima will co-host a Blessing Prayer Ceremony with Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche. He will also visit Hua Zang Si and San Francisco, and participate in activities in Northern California. Ven. Chandima is proficient in Chinese, Sanskrit, Pali and English, and we warmly welcome everyone to join in the exchange!

斯里蘭卡強帝瑪法師來訪

3月10日，斯里蘭卡三乘教法兼備的龍喜國際佛教大學 (http://www.niibs.lk)的創辦人強帝瑪法師來訪美國，為期一週。強帝瑪長老曾於20年前拜見南無羌佛並親為受教。此番抵美後，首至聖地誦經禮拜，後參訪文化藝術館、聖蹟寺、佛教城及拉斯維加斯慈善寺。法師請來一尊佛陀說法佛像供奉於佛教城籌備處佛堂，為佛法弘揚至西方世界又起一殊勝法緣。法師將帶領三乘教法的斯里蘭卡佛教文化與教育基金會於佛教城興建一佛寶舍利寶塔，將原始菩提樹及巴利三藏帶來佛教城，展現佛教宏傳於世的史蹟。未來更將與佛教城合作，將南無羌佛法音帶回龍喜國際佛教大學成立聞法中心，並邀約大學教授群協助進行南無羌佛法音經書翻譯工作，以期早日將正法弘傳於全世界。

強帝瑪法師將於5月底率領代表團前來參加世界佛教總部舉辦之佛誕法會，6/3-6/4日佛教城活動並將介紹其佛教城建設計劃，6/5-6/6日參加金剛寶座寺參訪活動，並將與扎西卓瑪仁波切共同舉辦祈福祈禱與交流，以及參訪華藏寺與北加活動。強帝瑪法師精通中文、梵文、英文，歡迎大家一同來交流！

Progress on City review of Buddhist Town, 2025

Thanks to the efforts of our team and two former city council members and mayors, we invited all current city council members and the newly elected mayor to visit Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town in February for on-site tours and discussions. Among the five council members, two are newly elected and are learning about the project for the first time. All council members were impressed by the project, its planning and design, and recognized its potential to be a wonderful addition to the City, bringing a precious cultural component to Hesperia. They all expressed strong support.

Moreover, they were frustrated by the current situation of the project. The council members understood that our project had already received city council approval but has been delayed due to various obstructions, preventing construction from commencing. They were made aware that as Buddhist practitioners, we choose not to engage in combat even though we have faced many unfair obstacles, and we only seek fair reviews of our documents. We have been fortunate to receive the support of the city council, and believe the project and what it represents will overcome all difficulties and reach fruition when conditions ripen.

With the joint efforts of the city council and our legal team, we hope to achieve further breakthroughs soon. The mayor and council members have also been invited to our June event to meet the most compassionate and peace-loving Buddhists around the world!

Collaboration with Nagananda International Institute for Buddhist Studies, Sri Lanka

For our June event, we have invited Venerable Chandima, the founder of Nagananda International Institute for Buddhist Studies in Sri Lanka, along with professors from the Institute, to join us. Ven. Chandima is fluent in Chinese, English, Pali, and Sanskrit and is also the founder of the Theravada Samadhi Education Association in Taipei.

Since being ordained at the age of 11, Ven. Chandima has dedicated over 50 years to upholding the original teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha, emphasizing self-cultivation and mastering Metta Sutta to cultivate wisdom and compassion. He has nurtured and supported thousands of Buddhist Sangha members and teachers and actively engaged in disaster relief and humanitarian efforts across South Asia.

More than a decade ago, Ven. Chandima had the opportunity to be received by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and received His Holiness’ teachings and Dharma transmission.

This June, Ven. Chandima and his team will participate in a panel discussion to introduce Nagananda International Institute and the Buddhist holy lineage of Sri Lanka. In 230 BCE, two great Arhat children of Emperor Ashoka of India personally brought the Buddha’s alms bowl, Bodhi tree saplings, and Buddhist teachings to Sri Lanka. After Buddhism declined in India, it was preserved through both Northern Transmission to China and Southern Transmission to Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka remains a key stronghold for Buddhism, housing the authentic Pali Canon and (alongside China ) one of the world’s two genuine Buddha Tooth Relics.

Moving forward, Nagananda International Institute for Buddhist Studies will participate in the development of Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town, bringing a collection of Sri Lanka’s sacred Buddhist relics, a holy stupa, Pali Sutras and the original Bodhi tree saplings to Buddhist Town. This convergence among the Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana traditions will restore the true essence of Buddha’s teachings, marking a great blessing for all sentient beings!

This year, we are introducing an outdoor meditation and camping experience on June 3rd at Holy Heavenly Lake. Over 100 participants have already signed up for lakeside meditation. Due to the need for seating and equipment arrangements, unregistered participants will not be able to join the meditation session. Please register online to participate! 敬愛的佛教城建設成員, 會員和朋友們, 大家吉祥如意！

聖天湖佛教城2025年政府方面工作推動

通過兩位歷任市長和市議員的努力，我們在二月間陸續邀請了所有的市議會成員和新市長來到聖天湖佛教城現場參觀和討論。五位市議員中有二位是新議員，也是第一次了解這個項目，但所有議員都一致對聖天湖佛教城的規劃設計讚不絕口，肯定它未來將是非常成功且能為荷斯比亞市提升文化氛圍的項目，表示非常支持。更且議員們細聽了簡報，了解到此計畫我們是早已得到市議會表決的開發同意，卻受到種種阻撓，至今無法開動工程，一致感到非常氣憤！我們表示作為佛教城佛教徒，雖然面臨了種種不公，但我們不願意採取法律行為與市府對簿公堂，只希望市府公平處理文件。但許多違反市政開發法令規定之處，我們的律師團隊都已一一列明擺出，市府是難辭其咎的。市議會已表示將和我們站在同一戰線，監督市府局處依法審批，儘速開工第一期工程。希望經過市議會與律師團的努力，我們能早日有所突破。六月活動，我們也邀請了市長及市議員們到場與我們互動交流！

斯里蘭卡龍喜國際佛教大學與佛教城合作

今年六月活動，我們特別邀請到來自斯里蘭卡三乘教法兼備的龍喜國際佛教大學（Nagananda）的創辦人強帝瑪法師，帶領佛教大學教授來參加活動。強帝瑪法師通曉中英巴梵語，也是台北原始佛教三摩地學會的創辦人。強法師11歲出家，50餘年來致力於秉持南無釋迦世尊原始佛教教授之宗旨，強調修行，專修慈悲經自度度生，培育弘法人才數以千計，於南亞各國弘法賑災救濟不遺餘力。

強法師曾於十數年前拜見南無羌佛師父，接受傳法。今年六月強法師團隊將參與會談活動，介紹佛教大學與斯里蘭卡佛教聖地。公元前230年印度阿育王的兩位大阿羅漢兒女將佛陀法缽及菩提樹與教法親自帶到斯里蘭卡，佛法在印度滅後即是靠北傳中國及南傳斯里蘭卡保存。斯國是原始巴利三藏集結處，與中國同為保存佛牙真跡之地，為佛教復興的重鎮。未來龍喜國際佛教大學也將參與佛教城建設，將斯里蘭卡的佛寶佛舍利，佛塔與原始菩提樹帶到聖天湖來。各乘教法終將重聚一處，恢復佛法的本貌，實是眾生之萬幸也！

6/5 日（週四）金剛寶座寺參訪：早上 8:30 洛杉磯大巴出發，中午到達中加州金剛寶座寺禮佛，瞻仰金剛寶柱，午餐；下午離開中加，晚上住宿舊金山附近旅店。

6/6 日（週五）舊金山美國國際藝術館 (IAMA)會員大會：早上 8:00 出發至舊金山寺廟禮佛、瞻仰佛舍利聖物。11 點參加美國國際藝術館 (IAMA)會員大會，參觀會員藝術展，午餐招待，下午於館內自由參加高智爾球活動，參觀珍寶館（免費開放）。預計下午 3 時啓程回洛杉磯聖蹟寺，中途停靠舊金山 SFO 機場。

Holy Heavenly Lake Annual Summer Event – June 3 - 4

The 2025 Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town annual summer event will be held on June 3–4! This year, we will feature an exciting lineup of activities including a camping bonfire party, outdoor meditation session, a Wiser friendship tournament, an outdoor bazaar raffle, panel discussions and exhibitions, and the release of lotus wish lanterns. The schedule is as follows:

June 3

3 PM/Overnight: Camping and outdoor meditation. Registration required (3/1)
4 – 7 PM: Bonfire preparation, lakeside self-serve vegetarian barbecue, outdoor activities
7 – 8 PM: Bonfire gathering and exchange session
8 –10 PM: Outdoor meditation session

June 4

9 AM: All-day bazaar and exhibition (free to join)
9 AM – 12PM: Wiser friendship tournament (registration 3/1)
12 – 4 PM: Four panel discussion sessions (registration 3/1)

Holy Heavenly Lake Wiser Friendship Tournament

The Holy Heavenly Lake Wiser Friendship Tournament, organized by the North American Wiser Ball Association (NAWA), will open registration on March 1. Participation is limited to 8 teams. A training field will also be provided. The aim is to foster friendship through the game, strengthen bonds, promote physical fitness, advance Wiser game in the world, and promote friendship and world peace.

Exhibition & Presentations

In addition to the exhibition of the Buddhist Town planning, four presentations and discussion sessions are planned. The panel discussions include the promotion of Buddhist youth alliance, promoting community service works, and strengthening self-learning and social welfare as key benchmarks! This is a platform provided for everyone to come and host discussions. We warmly invite you to register, share your experiences, collaborate for mutual development, and engage in a global exchange of ideas to promote true Dharma study and benefit all beings.

2025 Gathering & Activities

March 23, 2025 (Sunday) – Spring Landscape Maintenance Activity

On the morning of Sunday, March 23, a gathering at the Holy Heavenly Lake will participate in landscape maintenance activities, weeding, and fertilizing. Lunch will be provided at 11:00 AM, followed by a Wiser game and a referee training session. Everyone is invited to join!

May 25, 2025 (Sunday) – Lotus Pond Cultivation Activity

This year, a lotus cultivation pond will be set up next to the lake. On May 25, we will come together to learn about and cultivate lotus flowers. After lunch, there will be a Wiser game. We welcome everyone to participate and lend a hand!

United Service Center: Visit Central and Northern California, June 5 - 6

In order to assist with local travel arrangements for visitors to the United States, several enthusiastic volunteers from Buddhist Town established a United Service Center to help provide necessary information and services. In 2025, we are arranging a trip to visit the Vajra Throne Temple in Sanger, and the San Francisco Temples, as well as participation in the International Art Museum of America’s Members' Gathering, with free access to the Treasure Room. The group will depart from Pasadena at 8:30am, June 5, and return to LA the next evening. There will be a stopover at the San Francisco International Airport. Dear Buddhist Town property owners, members, and friends, Season's Greetings!

Looking back at 2024

After repeated discussions, revisions, and refinements by our team of engineering consultants in consultation with the City, the Phase I project plans and the Phase II planning and engineering revision reports for the Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town were finally submitted back to the City on December 18 to address various departmental comments. Following the November elections, we also began engaging with newly elected city council members and the new mayor, receiving positive feedback and support. The primary concerns stem from the potential future impacts of operations on traffic, roads, and public infrastructure, possibly inconveniencing the public. For a small city currently undergoing extensive development but with insufficient public infrastructure, it is understandable that the City is under pressure. We hope under the leadership of the new mayor and with the multifaceted support of several consultants, we can work together step by step to resolve these challenges! We pray for the smooth commencement of Buddhist Town's construction in 2025! Gratitude to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas for their blessings and to all participating organizations and volunteers for their relentless efforts.

Looking forward to 2025

Thanks to the efforts of our architectural team, the style and design of the Phase I projects have already taken vivid form. They showcase a diverse range of styles, from Chinese to European to Tibetan, forming the core of the Buddhist Town around Holy Heavenly Lake and Liberation Square. We have promised the City that the Phase I buildings will be completed and open to the public within three years after obtaining the construction permit. Meanwhile, the Phase II participants will continue to design their own Buddhist structures of various styles, showcasing diverse Buddhist cultures and enriching the cultural and artistic activities of Buddhist Town.

Therefore, for the June gathering this year, we sincerely invite Phase II participants to exhibit your design concepts. We are planning to invite our mayor, former mayors, city council members, local organizations and neighbors to join us and exchange ideas. We will also be able to better share the future vision of Buddhist Town with all True Dharma practitioners worldwide!

回顧 2024 年

聖天湖佛教城第一期工程圖及第二期規劃與工程報告，經過工程顧問團隊反覆多次與市府討論修改和細化，終於在 12 月 18 日完成，送回市府以回覆各部會的修改意見。在 11月選舉後，我們也與新選出的市議員及新市長展開交流，取得正面的回應與支持。對於此項目具宗教文化性質是否造成多年阻力一事，溝通下也得到更多的支持。主要擔憂來自於未來經營是否會對交通道路及公共設施造成衝擊，對民眾造成不便。對一個目前正面臨各方建設齊發而公共建設不足的小型都市，市府面臨的壓力自是不在話下。在新市長的領導下，與多位顧問的多方協助下，我們共同努力一步步解決吧！祈禱在 2025 年佛教城工程能夠順利啟動！感恩一切佛菩薩加持與所有參與單位和志工們共同不懈的努力。

展望 2025 年

第一期工程的風格造型在建築師團隊努力下，已躍然紙上，從中式，歐式到藏式琳瑯滿目，圍繞著聖天湖與解脫廣場塑造成為佛教城的核心。我們對市府許諾，在取得建築許可三年後將建成第一期建築群，對外開放。同時，第二期也將陸續依整體的規劃構思設計出各式風格的佛教建築，展現各式的佛教文化，豐富佛教城文化藝術活動的內涵。因此，在今年6 月初的聖天湖聚會中，我們特地邀請第二期的建設單位，歡迎將您未來的設計構思以效果圖面及說明提出展覽。屆時將邀請歷屆市長們，市議會成員及地方團體和鄰居一同來交流！也藉以與世界各地正法弟子們分享聖天湖佛教城的未來風貌！

社區共同體的塑造 - 感恩與實踐

敬愛的佛教城建設成員, 會員和朋友們, 感恩佳節快樂！

11月隨著感恩節的到來，在彼此祝福與感恩迴向之餘，也給我們機會反思自身的修行：我每天努力向佛陀學習了嗎？我每天不斷地在解脫成就的路上前進了嗎？我每天努力於佛事了嗎？還是在貪嗔癡中為己利而混過一日又一日？我時時落實利益眾生了嗎？我時刻懷抱感恩了嗎？在聖天湖，每當面對靜靜的湖面，總能感受親切的呼喚與提醒瞬間包圍著自己，在世法迅速流轉的當下，喚起心底深深的感恩以及堅定修行的信念與力量。

我的感恩心聲 – Kent Long 聖天湖常住 (中譯)

在此節日時，人們傳統性地會深思著我們所獲得的福報，並與親近的人分享。我最感恩的一件事是有機會在佛教城工作和生活。住在這裡從許多方面改變了我的生命。這裡成了我遠離城市喧囂的個人靜修之地。我的心靈安靜了許多，我感到更加平和。我與大自然更親近了，也喜歡觀察這片土地上的各種鳥類和動物。我在四季更迭中體驗生命的循環，並見證生命的無常。在春天，小鴨子快樂地跟隨牠們的母親在聖天湖裡游耍。其他時候，我遇到過世的動物，便一邊掩埋一邊為牠們念誦經文。能夠照顧與我一起生活在這裡的狗兒們和其他動物，對我而言是一種福報。我將這視為在現實生活中修習慈悲的一種方式，而不僅僅是課堂上的理念。我相信這是踏上菩薩道的一個起點。如果你與一隻狗建立深厚的感情，並對牠施展慈悲，牠會十倍地回報與你。未來，將會有許多人能體驗到佛教城帶來的福祉。我期待與大家共享這一切。

感恩與實踐，喚起更多共鳴

每當我們與聖天湖的訪客交流分享此修行生活結合不二的理念，落實向佛菩薩的學習，實踐於我們日常言行與活動中，在佛教城聖地具體展現並分享此不可思議的教導時，我們總能深深感到大眾的驚訝及許多對聖天湖佛教城的期盼。Kevin這位六月時意外來到佛教城新加入的友人，在十月露營聚會時分享他的心路歷程，感慨地說到：在外面世界雖然我事業很成功，但我覺得沒有人能分享我的內心世界，因為我生活周邊沒有任何一個人有努力修行行善戒惡的信念，我也無法向他們說明這多麼重要，而沒想到在這裡竟然有一群人，和我有著同樣的信念而具體地這樣生活著，我就像找到了自己的親人，雖然我是基督教徒….但，我們要怎麼做才能把佛教城這麼重要的信念帶給更多的人，使之能從中受益呢？他的心裡話正道出了佛教城的使命：如何與一切有緣眾生分享那佛法智慧所帶給我們的真正福慧與滿滿的幸福感？那心懷無盡感恩的幸福感和不分彼此的歸屬感是直觀而有巨大感染力的！超越了表象宗教名義的分別，而是從自利利他修行成就根本法味所喚起的共鳴。喚起更多眾生覺醒與更多的共力成就，就是佛教城的使命與意義。

感恩與回顧，為了走更遠的路

回顧佛教城的建設工作，在今年初面臨的種種瓶頸，自7月以來也一一有了不可思議的轉機。包括廢水處理設施及檸檬路拓寬等議題都逐漸出現解決方案的曙光。在市政府表示同意若干解決方案的大方向上，我們正更深入地按照市府的指示一步步修改各項工程方案細節，準備在年底前進入下一階段的協議。在佛教城活動方面， 2025年我們將繼續通過志工們推動建設活動、網路平台交流、學習推廣等，並進一步擴大社區服務，加強培養青年人才，歡迎大家隨時提出您寶貴的建議！修行不綴利益眾生，得以修整完美的盆缽，心懷感恩就是捧起這福慧的盆缽，承接無盡的福慧資糧。感恩！感恩一切佛菩薩的慈悲善導與加持，願將一切迴向給所有眾生！

This November holiday season, in addition to extending our Thanksgiving wishes to one another and paying gratitude to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, we also take time to reflect on our cultivation: Have I followed the teaching of the Buddha closely every day? Have I been making progress daily on the path to liberation? Have I contributed to Buddha’s endeavors? Have I consistently acted to benefit sentient beings? Have I embraced gratitude at every moment? Or have I let another day pass by consumed by greed, anger, and ignorance, seeking self-interest?

At the tranquil Holy Heavenly Lake, one will always experience that embracing intimate reminder, arousing a profound sense of gratitude, faith, and determination amid this rapidly evolving world.

My Heartfelt Gratitude – Kent Long, Holy Heavenly Lake

During this festive season, it is traditional for people to reflect on the blessings we have received and share them with those close to us. One of the things I am most grateful for is the opportunity to work and live in Buddhist Town. Living here has changed my life in many ways. It has become my personal retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. My mind has become much calmer, and I feel more at peace. I have become closer to nature and enjoy observing the various birds and animals on this land. I experience the cycle of life through the changing seasons and witness the impermanence of life. In spring, ducklings happily follow their mothers and play in Holy Heavenly Lake. At other times, when I encounter deceased animals, I bury them while chanting sutras for them. Caring for the dogs and other animals living here with me is a blessing. I see it as a way to practice compassion in real life, rather than just as a classroom concept. I believe this is the starting point of the Bodhisattva path. If you build a deep bond with a dog and show it compassion, it will return it to you tenfold. In the future, many people will be able to experience the blessings brought by Buddhist Town. I look forward to sharing all of this with you. (by Kent Long)

Gratitude and Practice: Inspiring Resonance

Whenever we share with visitors to Holy Heavenly Lake the concept of integrating spiritual cultivation with daily life, implementing learning from the Buddhas and putting into practicing in our activities here, we always see people's amazement and great expectations for the future Buddhist Town. Kevin, a friend who joined us by chance in June, shared his journey during the campfire gathering in October: In the outside world, although I am successful in my business, I feel that I am alone in my inner world, as there is no one around me striving to practice virtue and avoid wrongdoing as I do. I can’t explain to other people how important this is. But unexpectedly, here I found a group of people who share the same beliefs and live them out accordingly. I feel like I’ve found my family, even though I am a Christian... How we can bring the important beliefs of Buddhist Town to more people so they can benefit from them? His heartfelt words revealed the mission of Buddhist Town: sharing the wisdom of the Dharma, which brings us true blessings and happiness, with all sentient beings. That happiness, filled with endless gratitude and a sense of belonging without discrimination, is intuitive and profoundly contagious! It transcends the superficial distinctions of religious names and arises from the fundamental resonance awakened by self-benefiting and altruistic practice. Awakening more sentient beings and achieving greater collective accomplishments are the mission and significance of Buddhist Town.

Gratitude and Review: Paving the Way for Greater Progress

Since July, the various development bottlenecks faced earlier this year have seen some major breakthroughs. Issues such as wastewater treatment facilities and the widening of Lemon Street have made progress. Now that the city government has agreed to certain general directions for solutions, we are now making detailed revisions to the project plans according to their instructions, and are preparing to enter the next phase of negotiations. In 2025, we will continue promoting group activities, online platform exchanges, learning, and outreach through volunteers. We always welcome your valuable suggestions!

We feel profound gratitude for the compassionate guidance and blessings of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. May all merits be dedicated to all sentient beings!

Dear Buddhist Town property owners, members, and friends, greetings!

Joyful Fall Camping and a BBQ by the Lakeside

On October 26th and 27th, we gathered for a camping event at Holy Heavenly Lake. Though the desert weather can be unpredictable, the day surprised us with clear blue skies, warm sunshine, and a gentle breeze caressing the lush meadows. Wild ducks and geese lazily glazed the tranquil lake. Could there be a better place to spend a warm fall weekend afternoon at a perfect 78°F? As some people began pitching the tents and firing up the charcoal, others skewered delicious food, arranged the campsite, and built a campfire. Tents of all shapes and sizes lined the lakeshore, inviting curious visits. Kids couldn’t wait to toast marshmallows over the new campfire. Brother Wesley’s charcoaled skewers and grilled corn spiced with his custom sauce were bursting with irresistible smells that vanished before reaching the table. Sister Que’s steaming soup of homemade noodles and Sister Binbin’s trays of custard tarts became instant targets. As the evening set in, laughter and chatting filled the lakeside, bringing all together in warm joy.

As night deepened, the campfire grew brighter. Pleasantly full and relaxed, everyone gathered around the campfire, sharing thoughts of the future endeavors at Holy Heavenly Lake. There was a strong but indescribable sense of bliss and blessing that everyone agreed should be made accessible for more people to come and experience. No preaching, no criticism, no disputes—everyone set aside any differences and sat around the campfire, embracing gratitude, warmth, and bliss, enjoying the togetherness in blessings. A few local friends joined in, sharing experiences with gratitude. Near dawn, coyotes and dogs dashed through the wilderness exchanging howls and barks, but overall, we were blessed with a peaceful night camping.

Early in the morning on the 27th, sisters who helped prepare the breakfast quickly got hard boiled eggs and pickled cabbage together, accompanied by Sister Xu’s thick warm corn porridge, gently waking everyone up. As the sun rose, a splendid rainbow-colored light emerged, striking brushes of clouds above the lake—a serene beauty beyond words! Indeed, the mesmerizing scenery of Holy Heavenly Lake is always here. The scenic photos of the lake in the 2025 calendar capture some of its many beautiful moments, and will be sent to those who volunteered during the year. May the beauty accompany us always!

Wiser games started right after breakfast, with red and white teams forming and eagerly starting play. Amazing strikes even from new comers and unexpected excitement filled the air! Four rounds of games in the morning were followed by a spontaneous resumption after lunch, as everyone urged each other to come for more fun games in the coming year!

Many heartfelt thanks to all the contributions and dedication of volunteers whose efforts made this event a success. Moreover, it has quietly planted some new seeds of good causes. Words fall short of truly capturing the experience; only by being here can one sense this deep connection. May we all practice the teachings of Buddha in our daily actions and thoughts, embodying the true path in every moment of our days and finding boundless joy in doing so! May we dedicate all of this to the happiness and freeing from misfortunes of all beings, walking the path of the True Dharma together until we reach enlightenment!

暖秋湖畔露營燒烤其樂融融

10月26日及27日在聖天湖舉行一個露營聚會。

沙漠氣候變化莫測，26日大家都懷著忐忑的心情來到聖天湖！竟然！天公作美，藍天白雲暖暖，和風徐徐，低撫著青青的草原，湖面懶洋洋盪飛著秋雁野鴨群群。78度氣溫這樣暖秋的週末下午，還能有更理想的去處嗎？紮營的紮營，燒炭的燒炭，大夥兒忙串各式各樣的美食，佈置營地升起營火，孩子們已忙著就營火烤棉花糖球，不亦樂乎！一個個大大小小形形色色的帳篷沿著湖邊搭了起來，大家忙串門子互相觀摩，好不熱鬧。香噴噴的炭烤串燒和烤玉米結合了王標師兄精調的醬汁，香氣四溢，一出爐就一掃而空！闕大姊熱騰騰的煮麵疙瘩一碗接一碗，斌斌師姐的幾大盆烤蛋撻令人食指大動，人群在夜幕漸臨的湖邊飽餐嘻笑天南地北，其樂也融融！

天色漸暗營火漸旺，大家腹滿已矣，慵懶地圍著營火此起彼落一句搭一句聊著聖天湖的未來，一致的結論，就是這樣說不出的幸福感一定要讓更多的人能來此體驗！沒有說教，不要批評，不需爭議，何不放下你我的差異，在此刻，共同感受一下如此簡單的幸福，融入在彼此的祝福與關懷。有幾位鄰近的居民也來參與，不分彼此，分享著各自的心路，感恩於一切。

27日清晨，協助餐食的幾位師姐早早地就起身備餐，蛋撻煮蛋泡菜，配上徐師姐一大鍋熬得稠稠的玉米粥，在營地裡熱呼呼地喚醒大家。雖然夜半附近柴狼與狗兒對嚎，帶來些許曠野的氛圍，感恩一夜平安。

日出時七彩祥光現蹤，湖上飛雲如織，美不勝收！其實，聖天湖常年美景如幻，2025年的風景桌曆試圖捕捉點滴，我們將會將桌曆寄發給無法來參加活動的志工，希望聖天湖美景常伴左右。早餐後，大家紅白組隊準備打高智爾球！一口氣打了4場，頻頻擊出不可思議的球技，歡呼驚嘆聲不時爆起！直到午餐後大家仍欲罷不能，意猶未盡，彼此約定來年多打幾場球來吧！

感謝許多志工朋友的貢獻努力，活動圓滿閉幕，而，更多新的善因種子已悄然播下。再多的言語，不如身入其境的體會。讓佛法真理的教導在我們所有的一切行動心念中落實展現！活在當下正法的心行，契入無止境的喜樂！願將此一切分享迴向給一切眾生離苦得樂，於正法路上同行，直至成就！

Dear property owners, members, and friends of Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town, greetings!

Wild ducks herald the arrival of Autumn

2024, marked by widespread wars and people’s worries and fears, has passed quickly. This summer, the San Bernardino mountains were ravaged by wildfires, and earthquakes followed one after another. All these constantly remind us to focus on our own practice in doing good and avoiding evil, and striving to avoid disaster and approach good fortune. We owe gratitude to Kent and Jason, who have worked tirelessly under the blazing summer sun, clearing dry weeds to prevent wild fires, caring for young saplings, and protecting all life at Holy Heavenly Lake. In mid-September, the landscaping team started pruning, weeding, and fertilizing the willow trees. Although Holy Heavenly Lake is not yet open to the general public, everyone continues to work with a heartfelt commitment to care for this sacred land. The beautiful lake remains peaceful as always as we enter autumn, quietly welcoming wild ducks and birds seeking shelter for the winter, and awaiting our next return.

October 26-27 Holy Heavenly Lake Gathering of Volunteers

Over the years, aside from planning, design, and government applications, all activities at the Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town have been initiated, planned, and organized step-by-step by volunteers. We come here quietly and work away to build this place as our own home. Many volunteers, although not living near Southern California, remain closely connected and continually contemplate how they can contribute. With the shared goal of benefiting all beings, we support each other, bearing in mind how we can further provide opportunities to all who want to contribute. In doing so, more people can be led to the true Dharma.

To further promote activities that benefit society and provide more opportunities for anyone interested in participating in volunteer efforts and future construction and operation, a gathering will be held at Holy Heavenly Lake on October 26 and 27. Activities will include camping, stargazing, vegetarian barbecue, lakefront cleanup, wiser-ball practice and related discussions. The schedule is as follows:

October 26 (Bring your own tents and sleeping bags; meals and utensils will be provided by Buddhist Town)

3 PM Sign-in
4 PM Set up tent, prepare the bonfire, and get dinner BBQ going
5 PM Lakefront vegetarian BBQ dinner party
7 PM Bonfire gathering
9 PM Stargazing, light snacks and hot drinks
11 PM Bonfire ends (free time)

7-8 AM Breakfast (Buddha Halls open for morning prayers)
9 AM Wiser friendship game
10:30 AM Discussion and exchange of ideas

This is the first time we will arrange camping and stargazing at Holy Heavenly Lake. This is an experiment and a great opportunity to enjoy the tranquil beauty of the lake at night. Away from the hustle and bustle of the world, we can listen to each other whole heartedly and collectively envision our future. 入秋野鴨來棲息

多事的2024年在處處戰火和人們憂心恐懼中匆匆溜過去了大半，今夏聖伯納丁諾山區大型山火災害不斷，地震連三，時時提醒著我們兢兢業業清淨行持趨吉避凶。要感謝Kent和Jason 兩位不遺餘力地頂著炎夏烈陽清除野草防止野火，悉心照顧灌溉幼苗，努力維護聖天湖的所有生命。九月中，景觀工程隊開始了秋季的修剪工作，打理枝椏茂密的柳樹叢，除草施肥。雖說聖天湖尚未對外開放，然而所有人始終抱著照顧好一塊聖地的心努力保護著它。入秋，聖天湖如同往常一般平靜，靜靜地歡迎著過冬避寒的候鳥飛來棲息，也等待著我們的再次歸來。

10月26日及27日聖天湖志工露營交流活動

多年來聖天湖佛教城除了建設的設計和向政府進行申報工作外，所有的現場活動都是由志工們主動發啟，共同策劃組織，並一點一點實踐的。大家默默地來，辛苦地付出，為打造自己的家園努力！許多志工雖然不住在南加附近，仍經常念念不忘如何參與貢獻力量，大家為了利益眾生的共同理念，相互提攜，希望所有有心人都能有機會認識佛教城，運用這個平台，創造出有利眾生的活動，帶動更多的大眾進入正法，受益於正法的熏習。為了能更進一步推動利益社會大眾的活動，提供更多想參與志工活動及參與未來營運建設的任何人有機會互動交流，10月26日及27日將在聖天湖舉行一個聚會。結合玩高智爾球，露營觀星，戶外素食燒烤，湖岸清理，座談交流等活動。活動時間如下：

Overcoming Development Bottlenecks

Since July, we have been actively communicating with government agencies on several construction bottlenecks, especially regarding onsite wastewater treatment and the widening of Lemon Street. While our design plans have received warm affirmation, this project is unprecedented, and in a small Christian town, it’s inevitable that a Buddhist project would raise questions. Although the new City Engineer is unfamiliar with our project, her proactive attitude toward solving problems is refreshing.

Fortunately, the support of our two new advisors—both former city council members and mayors who strongly back our project—has helped us gain the confidence of City Council members and staff. Through their efforts, several innovative solutions are currently being proposed, going beyond the scope of a typical project. These include negotiating with the Victorville Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority to solve the wastewater treatment issue and proposing shuttle buses to connect with the future high-speed rail station to alleviate concerns about traffic. While these non-traditional solutions come with many uncertainties, we will move forward step by step with unwavering faith, as we have done all along, looking for breakthroughs soon.

Efforts to Cultivate the Lotus Pond

The cultivation of the Lotus Pond has been quite frustrating, with new sprouts frequently becoming a feast for ducks and geese! Last year, we decided to change our strategy by planting them along the shore temporarily for them to get established first, then gradually inching them toward the center of the lake. Fortunately, the lotus plants along the shore have flourished this summer. So, on August 18th, we conducted a lotus dividing and repotting activity. Much to the volunteers’ excitement, we nearly doubled the number of plants!

The task isn’t difficult; once you grasp the key factors, it’s rather easy and fun to do. First, we lay down 10-gallon flexible fabric pots, fill the pots with clay, which doesn’t disperse in water and can fully provide nutrients to the lotus roots, and mix in fertilizer. Next, we take the existing lotus pots out of the pond, separate the roots into 2-3 individual plants, and replant them in new pots. Finally, we place the new pots back in shallow water. That’s it! Next June, we’ll repeat the process of repotting earlier, and the Lotus Pond will gradually come in shape!

Stay Tuned – Volunteer Gathering October 27th

To provide an opportunity for those interested in volunteering and engaging in future operations, the Event Committee is planning a gathering at Holy Heavenly Lake on October 26th and 27th. This event will combine Wiser-ball, camping, stargazing, outdoor vegetarian BBQ, lakeside cleanup, as well as discussing and obtaining feedback to jointly plan next year’s activities. This is our first experiment with an overnight camping and stargazing event, but it will have to depend on weather conditions.

We will also be giving away to our volunteers the 2025 Holy Heavenly Lake desk calendar, which features stunning seasonal lake views from past years. We welcome your enthusiastic participation and suggestions for this event!

突破建設瓶頸的努力

自七月以來，我們一直積極地在與政府單位溝通幾項目前土建上主要的瓶頸，尤其是廢水處理設施及檸檬路拓寬的要求。新工程局長雖然對我們項目不熟，又得重新暖身，但積極解決問題的態度確實令人耳目一新。確實，這樣的項目內容史無前例，而在一個保守的基督教徒為主的小鎮，一個佛教項目帶來的疑惑感是必然的。我們的設計方案本身都得到很多的驚嘆與支持，而是周邊所需的配套在這樣的小城中，政府單位似乎由於無例可循有些不知所措。幸好，最近在我們的兩位新顧問的支持與協助下，由於他們過去都曾任此市的市議員及市長，對我們項目的熱烈支持也給予了市議會及市府審議單位多一層的信心。目前通過他們的努力正進行的幾個解決方案的提案也真的是超越一般建設項目層面，包括與勝利谷區域廢水回收總署協商合作解決廢水處理，如何提供穿梭小巴與未來高鐵站連結以降低政府對車輛充斥道路的憂慮等等。這些非傳統式的解決方案總有很多未知數，但如同我們一路走來，憑著不變的信心，希望很快能一步步有所突破。

蓮花池培育的努力

蓮花池的蓮花栽種幾經過去數年波折，每每發出新芽就成為鴨鳥鵝群的饗宴大餐，令人不勝唏噓！從去年起，改變策略先改種在岸邊，打算待其茁壯成長後再慢慢移往湖心。果然不出所望，岸邊蓮花今夏繁衍茂盛。8月18日我們進行了蓮花分株工作，幾乎加倍了數量，參與的志工都興奮不已。其實工作並不難，掌握了關鍵因素就能輕鬆上手。首先要選用黏土，在水中才不會流散，能充分提供蓮根養分。第二要用10加侖軟性的不織布盆（利於根部繁衍），將混合了肥料的黏土倒入。第三，把現有池中的蓮花盆取出，倒出來，將一盆中已發成多株的根，按株將根部切開成為2-3株，種入新盆。最後，將新盆安置回2-3呎深之淺水處。這就成功啦！靜待明夏再進行同樣動作，蓮花池就是這樣一點點成形地呀！明年打算提早在六月分株，應該能有更好的成效！

為了提供更多想參與志工活動及未來營運建設的任何人能有機會互動交流，活動委員會幾經討論，計劃於10月26日及27日在聖天湖舉行一個聚會。結合玩高智爾球，露營觀星，戶外素食燒烤，湖岸清理，座談交流，廣納各方意見，共同計劃來年活動。目前計劃是，大家可自由參與10/27交流會和打球一天活動，或10/26下午開始燒烤露營觀星及10/27 兩天活動。這是第一次嘗試過夜露營觀星活動，但也得老天作美才能確定。屆時並備有聖天湖歷年四季精彩湖景照片的2025年聖天湖桌曆贈送給大家，歡迎大家參與策劃提議並踴躍報名參加！

Echoes of Holy Heavenly Lake Events in June

The ripples of the summer activities at Holy Heavenly Lake are still resonating in the hearts of many! We continue to receive responses, especially on the inspirational panel discussion. People felt connected, and inspired and motivated to improve themselves. Questions arose about how to invite more young people to participate, how to shared ideas online, how to reach out to overseas participants, etc. Many ideas emerged, all centered around mutual support and encouragement, enabling those who cannot travel long distances annually to participate. Cultivating a heart that benefits all beings and promoting a life oriented towards the righteous path of True Dharma is exactly what Buddhist Town is about!

Buddhist Town is an event platform centered on Buddhist cultural tourism where everyone, whether Buddhist or not, can participate. This first stage of our cultural forum will focus on establishing a consensus on the True Dharma and its promotion, and encouraging more individuals to learn to apply the correct understanding and views in everyday life. In mid-July, we held a post-event meeting to review and integrate feedback and ideas and to begin planning activities for 2025. The central marquee area will be retained and expanded for discussions covering topics including promoting Buddhism in English, online interactions, boosting Wiser-ball games in North America, and inviting more Wiserball teams to introduce their activities. There will also be photography contests, live sketching, and so on. We welcome everyone to share your suggestions at any time to help shape Buddhist Town!

"Some have said that gathering at Buddhist Town is incredibly refreshing and nourishing, truly incorporating Buddhism and practice into daily life, sports, and interactions with others. Many have responded that the forum should definitely continue next year, acclaiming it as a refreshing tonic for the summer! Some mentioned that they came last year, this year, and will come again next year, encouraging each other to release lotus prayer lanterns at Holy Heavenly Lake. We sincerely thank everyone for their participation and dedication. The peaceful atmosphere and the perfection of all endeavors are the results of our collective wishes and efforts!"

Upcoming Events

On Sunday, August 18th, we will be working on dividing and planting lotus plants near lakeside. All are welcome to join! In mid-October, we will do a Fall cleanup event, also a volunteer gathering to exchange ideas, where we will also distribute the 2025 Holy Heavenly Lake desk calendar featuring beautiful seasonal lake views from past years. 6月聖天湖活動餘波迴響

六月盛夏聖天湖的活動餘波仍蕩漾於許多人的心中！我們不斷接到很多迴響，尤其是座談會帶給大家許多激勵。有人說，聽了某某人的經驗分享自己好慚愧呀！我要好好加油！也有人說，大家在一起分享的感覺真好，我們怎麼才能多保持聯繫呢？明年如何邀請更多的年輕人來參與呢？能否在線上共享呢？很多海外同學都不知道這裡的活動，如何擴大推動呢？很多的構想接二連三地萌生，大家不約而同的心願都是如何相互支援相互鼓勵，讓很多可能因路途遙遠無法年年跨海跋涉的人也能參與。這樣培育利益一切眾生的心，推廣利益眾生趨向正法的生活，正是佛教城建設的目的啊！

佛教城是以佛教文化旅遊勝地為核心的活動平台，長遠而言，不分佛教徒與否都能共同參與推廣經營。但現在第一個階段，文化會展將著重於建立正法共識，如何將正法推廣到人群中，帶動更多的人來學習以正知正見面對生活的種種，以及個人如何於世法中學習實踐。我們將通過各種形式的活動包括文化交流，繪畫寫生、攝影影片動畫、音樂才藝、運動和各種正業活動，並鼓勵更多年輕人參與受益於佛法的學習與傳播。七月中工作人員舉辦了一個會後會檢討並整合各方意見，並開始籌劃2025年活動，保留中央大篷活動區擴大座談活動，題材包括英文學佛推廣的研討、如何線上交流、如何推動北美高智爾活動，現場邀請更多團隊介紹自己的活動，及攝影比賽、現場寫生等等。歡迎大家隨時提出您的建議，讓我們共同創造佛教城！

June 17th Holy Heavenly Lake Event

On June 17 we gathered at Holy Heavenly Lake for our annual get-together. This year, we set up a large tent and established panel discussions for everyone to meet, chat, and exchange ideas. By the afternoon, extended tents and seating had to be arranged to accommodate the hundreds of participants. The discussions on stage were captivating, and the audience actively participated in lively interactions. The sharing of experiences in promoting Dharma teachings across various regions, especially the young people from the Canadian Buddhist Institute proactively leading youth in Dharma listening, garnered applause from the entire audience. Our journey has never been solitary; hearts resonate with one another across the globe, feeling a deep sense of shared purpose and camaraderie. It’s like a boat crossing the sea with collective effort, ensuring we all reach our destination together.

A briefing on the overall construction of Buddhist Town showcased the designs for Phase One, including True Dharma Temple, Zheng Xing Garden, Fa Chan Temple, and Macang Yuan. This provided everyone with a clearer understanding of the development history and future plans for Buddhist Town. The construction of Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town aims to establish a grand platform for the True Dharma, fostering mutual support and collaboration. The Cultural Convention theme integrates Buddhist principles into daily life, entertainment and work. We appreciated everyone's contributions to the food, arts and crafts, and fun fair, making it a wonderful day and furthering the creation of a major platform for Buddhist cultural activities to benefit all beings, step by step.

This year’s Wiser-ball tournament was the first to be hosted by the newly formed North American Wiser Association, which includes the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Eight teams from six regions participated in the friendly matches held in the morning. In the afternoon, Wiser-ball referees from the United States, Canada, Mexico, China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong exchanged ideas, making it one of the highlights of the event. Each shared experience injects new energy into the future development of Wiser-ball worldwide. Everything is thriving, and we look forward to meeting again!

As night began to fall, beautiful lotus lanterns stood amidst a sea of green lawn, radiating a blue and dazzling light. Countless lotus prayer lanterns floated on the lake, carrying bliss. Welcome home!

6月17日聖天湖活動

一年一度大家又在聖天湖相聚了！不同於過往，今年設置了一個大帳篷好讓大家有機會聚聚聊聊，交換這一年來的心得。沒想到的是，原本安排小小座談會10幾人座椅，結果不但一開始就頻頻增加座位，到了下午幾場連帳篷都連連往外加，上百人座無虛席。台上精彩論述分享，台下舉手發言踴躍！其中各地聞法推廣經驗的分享和由加拿大佛學院年輕人積極帶領青少年聞法的經驗，更是引發全場的共鳴和掌聲。我們一路走來豈德孤焉？天涯海角無不心心相印，感戴共天，情同手足，感於斯焉！如度海舟共力而行，必共度也！

佛教城整體建設的説明會

此次，也舉辦了佛教城建設的説明會，並展示了第一期正法寺、正行苑、法禪寺和瑪倉院的設計圖，讓大家對佛教城的建設發展歷程和未來的整體規劃，有了更清楚的了解。聖天湖佛教城的建設就是為建立一個正法的大平台，相容互助。藉由彼此交流，開展更多的正法事業。文化會展主旨即寓佛理趣於生活、娛樂及工作中，感謝大家美食藝品趣味園遊相助興，共同度過美好一天，也為打造佛教文化活動大平台而更進一步，以利益一切眾生一步一腳印行去。

高智爾球友誼賽

今年的高智爾球賽更是首次由新成立的聯合美加墨三國的北美高智爾球協會主辦。來自6個地區的八支隊伍於上午舉行了友誼賽。下午由來自美國、加拿大、墨西哥、中國、台灣、香港各地高智爾球裁判們進行交流，為此次活動的亮點之一！大家一點一滴的寶貴經驗，為未來高智爾球在世界各地的發展注入一股新力量！一切方興未艾，後會有期！

祈願水燈

美麗的蓮花彩燈矗立一片綠海中，藍艷寶光籠罩，夜幕漸低，點點蓮花祈願水燈在湖面上飄開，帶著我們每一個人心中多少心願！無常迅速，然此刻凝然永恆一瞬，心蓮綻開，渾然消融化入無際！願一切眾生皆隨願來歸！歸來！

讓我們把利益眾生的一切帶給眾生

為了準備即將到來的球賽和聚會，聖天湖於5月5日及5月26日分別舉行了兩次高智爾球練習活動。大家興致高昂，各個打出超強的球技，球場上頻頻傳出興奮的歡呼聲！球賽結束後，大家仍然意猶未盡，相約攜家帶眷繼續打球！其中Wesley 更是興致勃勃，決定回到墨西哥後帶動員工打球，為員工建立情誼發揮團隊精神的好機會！就這樣緣起之下，充滿朝氣的墨西哥球隊應運而生，有照為憑！見到笑容滿面的年輕面孔，豈不令人莞爾！其實，學佛人在一起豈只是進行宗教儀式活動，而是日常每時每刻懷抱著四無量心，把所有利人利己的各式各樣活動，分享給自己身邊的每一個人。佛教城也不只是一個宗教儀式場所，而是一個活潑多面向正能量的生活遊樂休閒學習的場所。來到這裡提醒著我們，追隨著正見正業正思惟，通過大家的努力，將更智慧更健康更快樂的一切帶給更多的人！讓更多的人有機會來此，體驗脫離那些貪瞋痴慢疑負面思維，進入慈悲喜捨世界的喜悅，所能帶給我們每一個人及周邊世界多麼大的轉變！

學習音響操作人人上手

如果不是James清晰而條理的操作解說，那些滿機子上幾十個陌生的鈕孔，簡直就讓人望之生怯。3月中時初初作過一次說明， 5/26日又進一步就6月現場活動佈置，實際架設設備，直接實驗，經過James師兄不急不緩細緻地帶領示範，大家竟然覺得挺快都能上手操作音響了呢！太不可思議了！以前只知道找專家幫忙，現在大家親自體會到了，其實一步一腳印，天下無難事，很快我們都將能上崗了！

6月17日聖天湖見！

6月17日聖天湖活動將準時於8:30開始。大家可直接由檸檬路大門進入。球隊請於8點報到。所有球賽賽程將集中於上午8:30-12完成，以便大家有機會參與座談和交誼活動。現場並設有20多個攤位，各式餐飲與義賣活動。下午4:00舉行頒獎及摸彩，4:30施放祈願蓮花燈。今年特別加設一訓練球場，供大家自由參加學習打球！歡迎邀請親朋好友一起來！6/17聖天湖見！

徵選聖天湖攝影作品

為了讓更多人能分享聖天湖四季朝夕的美景，我們擬每年公開徵選聖天湖攝影作品，獲選作品自2025年始，將年年製作為聖天湖月曆。一經採用將署名作者並特頒以感謝狀。徵選辦法將於近日於網站公告。六月來聖天湖時別忘了多採集美景入鏡，歡迎大家踴躍參與，留下我們的雪泥鴻爪驚鴻一瞥！

湖畔植栽與第一期工程！

景觀工程隊繼續於湖畔進行植栽工作，於聖天湖西北兩岸種植了四百餘棵植物。Jason和Kent兩人也忙碌地除雜草，鋪植草坪。今年將能進一步實現環湖景觀步道雛形。目前所有植栽都是配合第一期建設的四大建築群而建。第一期建設的四大建築群設計圖，也將於6/17日展出！

歡迎參加5/5/2024 球賽暖身運動

今年高智爾球賽除了比賽外，將特別設立一個訓練球場模擬訓練比賽，將有專家教練親為指導，讓所有有興趣打球的朋友都能有機會下場參加！不需要任何經驗，也不需要組成團隊，可現場報名當場參加，也無時限。記得戴上帽子，塗好防曬油，捲起袖子就可以上場了！5/5日週日晨，我們將於聖天湖打球暖身，歡迎大家自由參加！

"Buddhist Cultural Convention" is coming--share your experiences!

Plans for Buddhist Cultural Convention, coming up in June, is receiving interesting feedback. It is wonderful that many organizations are coming to share their valuable experiences and touching stories. Some teams will showcase their Dharma activities, while others are preparing to exhibit the conceptual designs of their Buddhist Town projects. There will be five panel discussions throughout the day, including discussions on operating Dharma centers, how global Buddhist youth can unite, how to promote Buddhist social charity projects, and more. please feel free to sign up for the panels! At noon, there will be a briefing on the development of Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town - the Buddhist Vatican. We are striving to help more people understand the nature and significance of Buddhist Town.

Call for Submissions to the Holy Heavenly Lake Photography Competition

In order to share the beauty of Holy Heavenly Lake with more people, we plan to solicit photographs of Holy Heavenly Lake throughout the four seasons. Starting from 2025, selected works will appear in a Holy Heavenly Lake calendar annually. The authors will be awarded with certificates of appreciation. When visiting Holy Heavenly Lake in June, don't forget to capture the beauty in your lenses. Let’s leave our marks with breathtaking glimpses!

Lakeside Planting and Phase One Project Update!

The landscape team have planted over four hundred flats of plants on the north show of the lake. This helped advancing our lakeside scenic trail which is coordinating with the four major Phase One architectural complexes. The design drawings for these architectural complexes will be exhibited on June 17th at Fa Chan Temple.

Welcome to the Warm-up Practice for the Wiser Game on 5/5/2024!

This year's Wiser game will feature not only the competition but also a special training field to simulate training matches. Expert coaches will be guiding the participants for all. No experience or team formation is required. You can sign up on the spot, put on your hat, apply sunscreen, and roll up your sleeves to get on the field! On Sunday morning, May 5, we'll be warming up with a game at Holy Heavenly Lake. Welcome to join!

早春湖畔景觀工程！

三月新綠的柳枝與怒放的桃花已然在聖天湖畔宣告春天的到來！景觀工程隊經過兩週的努力，於聖天湖西岸塑造了優美的湖畔散步道，並為南北灣湖畔的花圃區設置了完整的澆灌系統，準備展開春季的栽植，水灣花圃將與大草原銜接並為湖邊形成一圈安全保護區。我們的目標是塑造環湖景觀步道提供給更多的來客享用！近日，鄰居們也相繼來訪，驚見聖天湖美景讚不絕口。更驚嘆於我們所造的美麗環境都將是開放給大眾享用的，而並非如有些人誤以為是佛教徒才能進入的禁區。這樣的來訪對於增進對佛教城的了解及解除誤解將有很大的幫助。其實，可能連很多佛教徒也誤以為佛教城是為了給信眾蓋起富麗堂皇的廟宇，提供信眾優美的“居住”環境而建。並非如此！佛教城的創造是為了提供利益眾生的活動而引領入佛法的世界，富麗堂皇的廟宇是為了接引眾生，美麗的環境也是為了帶給眾生的幸福。這才是佛教城的使命！

3/24/2024 春季活動記實

3/24日晴空萬里，早早地大家就勤快地將溫室中分栽的幼苗運到湖邊栽種起來，沒想到短短兩個小時竟然種了近400盆幼苗，太有成就感了！簡單的用餐後就接下來音響學習活動。由何德仁師兄準備了非常詳盡的書面說明，加上現場操作示範，很快大家就準備上手了！希望藉由這個學習能培養出音響工作團隊，更能到各地的道場服務！非常感謝何師兄的用心與付出！

聖天湖杯高智爾球比賽與「佛教文化會展」啟動！

2024年聖天湖佛教城年度活動將於6/17日（週一）舉行。活動主軸為聖天湖杯高智爾球友誼賽！並配合一天球賽同步進行佛教文化會展活動，及對佛教城發展的進度內容說明，當然更少不了放祈願水燈等精彩活動！

今年聖天湖杯高智爾球友誼賽，將於四月一日起報名。參賽限額12隊，採淘汰賽，選出冠亞季軍。旨為以球會友，聯絡情誼，鍛鍊體魄。會展活動則以推動交流，合作共榮為主旨。目前已有團隊各自提出若干座談主題包括：發展全球佛青聯盟交流活動，發展幼兒學佛網路教材，佛教文創商品與網路商店，佛教故事卡通創作，彩燈製作及表演，藝術創作義賣，文化傳播視頻製作，全球贈書活動，國際表演藝術交流活動，素食文化，佛藝創作珠寶設計等等。將於會場提供不同時段的座談會，有興趣的人可以參與不同專題的討論。為了提供舞台給更多的單位團體，我們將公開廣泛徵求有意提供舉辦座談的團隊報名，詳細辦法將於三月底前公佈。屆時歡迎大家踴躍報名，或提供構想舉辦說明會，或分享經驗，或參與園遊攤位義賣等。希望大家能藉此機會彼此分享構思，並合作共同發展，相互學習交流。在共同目標下，逐步建立全球互動互助的各種專業團隊推廣正法學習，利益眾生。這也是啟動佛教城年度全球“佛教文化會展”的初試啼聲！

Dear Buddhist Town Members and Friends, We wish you a happy and prosperous Year of the Dragon!

Holy Heavenly Lake Cup Wiser Tournament and the “Buddhist Culture Exchange Convention”

Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town’s 2024 annual gathering is scheduled to be held on June 17th (Monday). It will be a one-day event. With many people urging us to hold a Wiser tournament again this year, we decided to hold the tournament, as well as a gathering for a “Buddhist Culture Exchange Convention” to exchanging ideas and collaboration, and present an update on the development of Buddhist Town. Of course, we will also pray for world peace and release lotus water lanterns!

The Wiser Tournament will once again feature 12 teams, with the goal of promoting friendship, fostering camaraderie, and enhancing physical fitness.

The convention activities will focus on promoting exchanges and encouraging future collaboration among groups around the world. Various ideas have been proposed, such as: develop exchange activities for the Global Buddhist Youth Alliance, create online Buddhist learning materials for children, create original Buddhist cultural products and e-commerce, create Buddhist story cartoons, conduct Buddhist-themed lantern designs, organize global book donation events, conduct international performing arts exchanges, promote vegetarian culture, create Buddhist art jewelry design, and more.

We are planning 5-6 panel discussion sessions throughout the day, each lasting 45 minutes, where all participants can join the discussions and exchange ideas freely. We will be openly soliciting panel discussion topics and organizers so as to provide a platform for more people. Detailed planning and a preliminary program will be announced by the end of March. You are welcome to register to hold a panel discussion session, or to share ideas and experiences with a display booth, or take part in the charity sales booths. We hope this will promote collaboration in all aspects of Buddhist cultures and ideas, building toward a wide spectrum of Buddhist cultures as a window for more people to be exposed to the true Dharma that brings prosperity and wisdom for everyone. This will be the first "Buddhist Culture Exchange Convention" held in Buddhist Town, and will be built into an annual activity for more people to join and enjoy!

Spring Event - 3/24/2024

The Spring Event will take place on March 24th. We will be working outdoors around the lake from 9 to 11 a.m. After the lunch break, James will lead a sound DJ workshop for more of us to learn about operating a sound system for future events. Everyone is welcome to join!

聖天湖佛教城展開2024年！

新年新計畫！今年最重要的工作之一就是建立起全球的連繫網，推動佛教城參訪！
為了推動各地佛教城建設成員及志工的參與，以及各地佛教徒對佛教城的參訪認識，佛教城新加入了一位熱心的員工，她就是趙艷雯Joanna！Joanna多年從事客服工作，從行政到服務各方面經驗豐富，相信將能為來到佛教城的訪客提供最好的協助！過年期間Joanna已接待數批來到聖天湖的同學！包括來自中國的師姐們，紐約大悲願18位同學及紐約敬業院的師兄師姐們！佛教城隨時都為大家敞開大門，大家可以直接打佛教城電話找Joanna安排囉！

佛教城歡迎大家！

一月十五日，紐約大悲願翁愛杰師兄帶領從紐約前來的十八位師兄姊們一同參觀聖天湖佛教城。不管是再次重遊勝地還是第一次到來，團隊中的每一位訪客都滿懷喜悅和期待。大家一進入辦公室即一邊細看牆掛的設計圖，一邊詢問著有關佛教城建設的各種問題。在一陣熱切詢問後，大家馬上安靜下來聚精會神地觀看佛教城的紀錄影片，從中獲悉這幾年來在聖天湖舉辦的法會和活動，以及志工們進行擴湖、整地、維護和植樹等工作，還欣賞聖天湖位處南加荷思比亞市獨具的四季分明、景色各異的自然美景。一行人邊聊邊一起走往項目現場參觀，實地了解計畫中各寺廟和中心的坐落位置。當走到湖邊時，大家都不約而同地停住了腳步，讚嘆閃耀湖面上鴨子鳥兒嬉戲的一片美景。繼而大家齊聲提議去看傳聞中的地下河，走到莫哈比河邊，大家紛紛拍照留影，邊看著這片乾河床，邊說不可置信此處在特殊因緣下於2019年二月曾出現過如此壯觀的河水湧現。與以往的訪客們一樣，大家離開時都雙手合十祈禱世界佛教梵蒂岡早日落成，實現大家的共同願景。

洛杉磯至拉斯維加斯的高鐵光明線又有新的好消息！不但工程已開工預計在2028年洛杉磯奧運前開幕，並且一月份又有消息確認，此高鐵線將與連結舊金山洛杉磯的加州高鐵線（CAHSR）在勝利谷（Victorville）會合。二十年來的計畫項目終於要鏮然落地實現了！這將使勝利谷中包括佛教城所在地的荷思比亞市這三座小城成為重要的轉運節點，而佛教城的到訪也將更形便利！

Holy Heavenly Lake 2023 Recap and 2024 Outlook

As we bid farewell to the busy month of December, we are also about to part with the year 2023. Let's take a moment to review the activities of the past year and look forward to the coming year.

1. Construction Work

At the beginning of this year, the Phase One of land subdivision and transfer was completed, and the designs for over 20 buildings on Phase One’s four parcels were submitted for City approval. Given the large scale and unique nature of this project, the city government has been particularly conservative and cautious, especially concerned about the opinions of neighboring residents. It might be unfamiliar to some, but every detail and any technical implementation during the project's progress require continuous negotiation with various government departments to obtain one approval after another. This process is not as straightforward as project approval leading to immediate construction, especially in California, known for its stringent regulations. Although many wish for the commencement of the second phase, we must carefully navigate through the government's detailed requirements, including widening Lemon St., responding to land acquisition requests for neighboring properties, additional levee construction along the Mojave River, and designing municipal engineering for wastewater treatment and discharge. These major aspects are currently under more detailed studies and evaluations as we negotiate for favorable solutions. For example, the Brightline high-speed rail project between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, already underway, will bring positive impacts and business opportunities to us. We will provide electric shuttle minibuses between the high-speed rail station and Buddhist Town to take care of visitors coming from the HSR. However, we still need to provide parking for visitors arriving by conventional transportation modes. The negotiation process is complex and dynamic. But we remain open-minded and optimistic that the undeterred visions for Buddhist Town will continue to move forward, and we will strive to start construction of Zhengxing Garden and True Dharma Temple as soon as possible!

2. Holy Heavenly Lake On-Site Activities

This year, we hosted seven events, including planting and maintaining trees and water plants; establishing the HHL Wiser Ball Team; organizing the world Wiser Friendship Invitational Tournament and Bazaar Gala in July; and inviting neighbors to a Thanksgiving gathering in November, where we released lotus water lanterns and had joyful interactions with neighbors! This marked our first formal invitation to the community, with informational sessions and discussions with neighboring residents, giving them the opportunity to get to know us. Both times we released wish-fulfilling lanterns this year we deeply felt that when we sincerely prayed together, everyone—Buddhist or not—was filled with joy and peace. Therefore, in 2024, we will continue the wish-fulfilling water lantern release activity, aiming to establish it as a traditional event at Holy Heavenly Lake. On Buddha's birthday in June, as usual, in conjunction with the Dharma assembly, we will invite everyone for a reunion in HHL. This year, for the first time, we will invite international teams to participate in planning and providing activities. On the community front, we will further expand charitable activities. We hope that little by little out efforts in the coming year will help plant the vision of Buddhist Town in everyone's hearts.

3. Buddhist Town Operation Planning

In November of this year, we comprehensively updated the Buddhist Town website, adding new content in both Chinese and English, facilitating the connection among fellow Buddhists and the general public worldwide. A Youth Group is coming together to enhance the participation and engagement of young people around the world! The "Buddhist Town Community Association" has been established and it will enable more volunteers to participate in Buddhist Town activities and engage in operational development, including expanding online platforms, promoting learning experiences, and enhancing community services. Buddhist Town welcomes everyone with open arms! We will adhere to the practice of the Four Unlimited States of Mind and the Six Paramitas, aiming to benefit all sentient beings and continuously striving for the sustainable development of Buddhist Town!

聖天湖2023年回顧與2024年展望！

隨著忙碌的12月我們也即將揮別2023年！感恩所有志工熱情投入與貢獻, 為佛教城這一年的工作畫下完美的句點！讓我們回顧這一年的活動，並展開新一年的願景！繼續為弘法利生的事業努力！

1. 佛教城建設工作方面

今年初第一期土地分割過戶, 完成了第一期四塊土地上20餘棟建築物的設計, 並送進市府審批。對於如此大規模又性質特殊的項目, 市府是格外保守慎重, 也特別擔心左鄰右舍居民的意見。有些人可能不了解, 項目進行中的每一項細節的技術執行, 都需要不斷地和政府各部門協商以取得同意, 並非只要項目批准了就能自行興建。加州更是有名的關關卡卡。雖然很多人都希望早日開動第二期工程, 但政府細節上總總要求, 我們仍然必須謹慎應對。如檸檬路的拓寬及鄰地徵收要求, 莫哈比河岸增加堤防工程, 污水處理排放市政工程等幾個大項, 都是目前我們仍在進行更詳盡的設計與評估, 以協商爭取對我們有利的解決方案。已開工的洛杉磯與拉斯維加斯間高鐵工程光明線, 將為我們帶來很多正面影響和商機, 我們將提供與高鐵站間的電動穿梭小巴以解決遠程遊客的交通問題, 但我們仍然必須面對市政府依傳統數據對我們提出額外停車量的要求等等。協商過程是複雜多變不言而喻的 , 但是無論如何我們也就是平心以對, 在新的一年中, 秉持佛教城建設的初衷, 持續不斷地往前邁進，爭取正行苑及正法寺古佛殿儘早開工興建！

2. 聖天湖現場活動方面

今年我們舉辦了七場活動, 包括植樹栽花維護活動, 成立了聖天湖高智爾球隊, 七月間舉辦全球高智爾球友誼邀請賽及聯歡會, 11月間舉辦了敦親睦鄰感恩活動, 施放蓮花燈與鄰居愉快地互動！這也是我們第一次正式邀請社區人士來到佛教城, 並於現場說明會和周邊居民交流, 讓他們有機會認識我們。在今年兩次放祈願水燈時, 我們都感受到不論佛教徒與否，當我們共同虔心祈禱時, 那一刻每個人都沈浸在幸福希望中, 無有分別。因此2024年我們將延續祈願水燈活動, 以形成聖天湖的一項傳統; 每年六月佛誕也將如同往常, 配合法會邀請大家於聖天湖團聚; 今年更將首次邀請國外團隊參與策劃與提供節目; 我們將更進一步拓展社區慈善活動。期望在來年中通過一點一滴的努力, 讓佛教城的願景能在所有人的心中生根茁壯。

3. 佛教城軟體規劃方面

今年11月我們全面更新了佛教城網站, 加入新中英文內容, 以利推動連結全世界更多的正法弟子與社區成員。我們成立了青年組, 加強各地青年人參與和投入！成立了“佛教城協會”（Buddhist Town Community Association）讓更多的志工們參與推動佛教城的活動及軟體建設, 包括網路平台、學習推廣和社區服務等。

佛教城是永遠張開著雙臂歡迎每一個人！我們將以實踐四無量心和六度萬行為依準，以一切利益眾生為目標，持續為佛教城的永續發展而努力！

敬愛的佛教城建設成員，會員和朋友們，大家吉祥！
聖天湖佛教城社區感恩聚會！
多年來周邊鄰居總會不時好奇地在門前張望，也有曾經來參加過扎西卓瑪仁波切舉辦的學佛活動的學員也時常來微詢。因此，今年初我們就規劃了在年末舉辦敦親睦鄰的活動，決定在感恩節前的週末11/19日週日下午2時至6時辦一個小小的聚會，共同分享、感恩、祈禱及施放水燈。經過幾週來大家密集的籌備，並挨家挨戶地發送了幾百份邀請海報，在湖邊張燈結綵，擺置南瓜松果蘋果楓葉，瞬間將湖畔裝扮出了豐富的節日氣息！主要活動大篷內電視螢幕輪播著聖天湖佛教城的介紹影片，豐富的美食圍繞周邊，熱雞翅鍋貼搭配南瓜小蛋糕和蘋果派，加上各式小吃配著熱可可的香味四溢;可愛的趣味點心區，自己動手爆米花，随巧克力噴泉捲棉花糖，大人小孩都爭相欲試;運動區準備了高智爾球、足球和風掌等等，不一會兒場上高智爾球已然對陣開打;尋寶攤吸引了不少尋寶者;美勞區動手折紙鶴和捏糖霜小動物等等，好不熱鬧開心！

當天參加聚會大約有160幾位，主要是周邊的鄰居，還有我們的幾位設計師、工程師、律師及志工同學。很多鄰居都是老老少少攜家帶眷來參加，也有來了後又折回去約家人朋友來，很多人都表示竟然不知近在眼前就有這麼美的一個湖！當天湖畔紅葉黃葉在陽光下映著夕陽的湖面閃耀，金光奪目一片美景，大家一塊兒祈禱感恩並施放祈願水燈，有的人感動地流淚，有的人喃喃自語望著自己的蓮花水燈在湖面漂開，有父女一起放燈滿滿的温馨。望著大家虔誠地投入，不分彼此，是啊！人同此心，心同此理，每一個人心中都為了祈求美好幸福的未來，何來分別？在今天如此動盪不安的世界裡，就讓這片刻的感恩與寧靜帶我們回歸心靈的自由與美好！無限感恩！

Respected Buddhist Town Property Owners, Members, and Friends, Greetings to all!

Thanksgiving Community Gathering at Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town!

Over the years, neighbors from the surrounding areas have occasionally curiously peeked at our front gate, and some students from Buddhist classes organized by Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche have also often made inquiries. Therefore, earlier this year, we decided to host a year-end event to promote neighborly relations. We decided to hold a small gathering on Sunday, November 19th, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the weekend just before Thanksgiving. During this event, we shared, expressed our gratitude, said our prayers, and released water lanterns together. After weeks of intensive preparation and distributing hundreds of invitation posters door-to-door, we decorated the event venue by the lake with lights and banners. Surrounding a seating area with a TV screen playing videos introducing HHL Buddhist Town were a hearty food area with finger food like hot chicken wings, pot stickers, mini pumpkin cakes, apple pies, and cheese and crackers, along with a fun snacks section where visitors could make their own popcorn or fruit dipped in chocolate fountains and roll their own cotton candy. The sports area included activities like wiser ball, soccer and kite flying; while the treasure hunt area provided various accessories, books, and cards from the gift shop of the International Art Museum of America. The arts and crafts area involved making origami cranes and molding sugar frosting animals, attracting both adults and children to participate joyfully!

Approximately 160 attended the event, including volunteers and many neighbors of all ages who came with their families. Some attendees brought their families after initially coming alone, expressing surprise at discovering such a beautiful lake nearby. The red and yellow leaves around the lake sparkled in the sunlight, creating a stunning golden-red landscape. As the sun set in the west, everyone gathered to express gratitude, pray, and release wish-fulfilling lanterns. Some neighbors were moved to tears; while others whispered to themselves as they watched their lotus-shaped lanterns float on the lake. Witnessing everyone's sincere involvement, without distinctions, reminded us that we all share the same aspirations for a better future. In this tumultuous world, let this moment of gratitude and tranquility guide us back to the freedom and beauty of our spirits! Infinite gratefulness!

As 2023 approaches its end, this year's activities are drawing to a successful close. We have endeavored to advance future Buddhist Town activities, taking the first step in activity planning to connect more community members and true Dharma practitioners worldwide. Starting in 2024, through the continuous efforts of Buddhist Town Community Association volunteers, we will promote construction, activities, online platforms, learning, and outreach, providing a platform for true Dharma practitioners to exchange ideas and a venue for propagation the true Buddha Dharma. We will further promote community service and encourage and enhance the participation of the youth group in learning from Buddha and propagating the Buddha Dharma. 聖天湖活動青年組成立了！

隨著7月聖天湖活動圓滿落幕, 感恩來自世界各地的迴響與鼓勵, 為佛教城未來營運累積了
很多寶貴經驗。更高興的是喚起了很多青年朋友的參與！由此因緣, 我們召集成立了 ”聖天
湖活動青年組,“ 並於9/17日首次邀請青年組在聖天湖聚會交誼, 活潑的討論, 多彩多姿的
構思, 帶來了很多的歡笑聲！佛教城未來將走向社區服務大眾, 提供各類饒益眾生德智體
群美的活動, 使一窺佛教無限豐富內涵, 進而得到正法之薰陶！歡迎所有的年輕朋友共同來
參與, 創造活潑多元化的活動！佛教城並提供給在校生社區服務時數的機會, 有意參與推

我們的家園 – 秋涼湖畔栽花行

入秋前, 趁著美麗秋高氣爽時節, 配合植物休生養息的開始, 9/17日大家上山來修剪樹木清
理野草, 並栽種自行培育的水草, 令草原銜接至水岸邊煥然一新！溫室也重行分盆培育數
百盆新苗, 來年茂盛茁壯有期！

建築3D打印廠參觀記

佛教城的打造, 除了持續與市政各單位進行有關排污道路防汛等措施工程的設計協商, 第
一期四項工程設計方案及二期整地分割的審理。同時, 對於如何採先進工程技術快速進行
第一期工程建造, 尤其是打造正法寺古佛殿結合中西設計的金寶頂細部及中式廟宇和蘇式
園林建築, 也已進入結構設計與施工技術的研擬。由于欣聞世界知名3D建築打印技術有成
的Winsun 公司竟然是同位於檸檬路上的鄰居, 9/17日也特別邀請該公司負責人馬總為我
們做了說明, 並至現場實地參觀了3D打印機的示範操作, 著實令人大開眼界！馬總並提議
之後在佛教城為我們示範打印一些景觀建築戶外傢俱等等, 讓大家一起來參與。Bravo! 敬

The Youth Group is established!

The successful Wiser Tournament and the water lantern activities in July received a great deal of positive feedback and encouragement! These events not only set a great prelude for future operation of Buddhist Town, but also resulted in many young members displayed interest in future participation. In response, a Youth Group was established. It will be an avenue for young people to meet and exchange ideas! On September 17, the Youth Group task force had its first gathering by Holy Heavenly Lake, during which a lot of lively discussions, laughter and ideas were exchanged. Buddhist Town will be opened to serve the community, and to provide fun, educational and entertaining activities. We welcome all young people to join the task force and assist in developing ideas and programs. Buddhist Town also offers community service opportunities for young students. If you are interested in participating, please contact Susan or Kay at 626-639-8181.

The Fall Gardening Gathering

As Fall sets in and the heat subsides, the large lawn by the lake is turning into a beautiful rich green carpet, and the lake shore is begging for weeding and renewal before the arrival of winter. The maintenance volunteer group came to the rescue as usual. One group helped sort and replant the green house while a second group took charge of pruning all the trees along the lake shore, and another group went weeding and replanted the ground cover and water plants. The lakeshore is happy again!

Visiting a 3D construction printing company

As we explore structural and constructional technologies for the Phase One work, we are looking for creative modern technologies to construct the traditional Chinese-style temple garden buildings and the golden domes. It was a happy surprise to discover that we have a neighbor that specializes in 3D construction printing. Winsun Technology Inc. is located in Hesperia on Lemon Street, only 5 minutes away from Buddhist Town. President Yihe Ma came and gave us a very impressive presentation showing buildings the company has completed in Dubai, China, Oman and Qatar. We also took a tour of their operation, during which Mr. Ma personally demonstrated the printing machine in action. It was quite eye opening! Mr. Ma also offered to print some landscape furniture at Buddhist Town according to our designs, and welcomed volunteers to participate. Bravo! We will be looking forward to this event.

Thank you, all volunteers, for the successful July event! It would not be possible without your
participation and contribution!

We were able to host the 2023 Wiser Invitation Tournament with 12 teams from 5 countries, US, Canada, Japan, China and Taiwan. More than 800 people came to enjoy the summer festival for the two-day celebration of the Holy Birthday of H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, with a memorable lantern offering and water lantern releasing, carrying our wishes for the world peace and harmony!

More than 150 volunteers participated in supporting the event, from reception, Wiser support team including the referees, the meals preparations, the booths, the ground cleaning, the safe guards. They came from all over, New York, San Francisco, Canada, Singapore, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taipei and more. With no prior rehearsal, everyone jumped right into the tasks assigned and work as a team like old friends.

The sales proceeds were voluntarily donated by each attending booth to World Buddhism Association Headquarters for the fund of True Dharma Temple. We were able to raise more the $50,000 (see the attached receipts numbers and amounts for each team)

Holy Heavenly Lake is a place we can all come and enjoy. It is always open to all.

On the hottest day in record, July 4, the Wiser Tournament successfully completed.
After long weeks of preparing and attending the Dharma assemblies in June, coming to Holy
Heavenly Lake to join the summer festival by the lakeshore was refreshing. A two-day
celebration, with the Wiser Tournament, a bazzar, art and craft workshops, food festival, and
the performance of the lighting the lantern, expressing our gratitude of being safe, healthy, and
peaceful, and to offer the prayer for the people who are suffering and lost.

We lit up the water lanterns, released them on the water carrying our wishes, for the peace and harmony for the whole word. Watching the peaceful night set in and the lotus lights lighting up the dark evening lake brought such deep sense of gratitude and calmness.

The outside world is created by our minds, and the source of the world peace and harmony come from our heart, from each one of us. May we be the messengers carrying the peace and harmony to the world.

We will behold the light we were transmitted, the inner peace and wisdom, to help and to serve the people around us. May it bring peace and harmony to the world!

經過一週密集法會活動，來到聖天湖佛教城熱鬧地賽球園遊一直到7/4日傍晚在聖天湖畔放完祈願水燈，在湖邊安靜地各自發願迴向。在寧靜的夜晚來臨前，手牽著手，懷著無比感恩的心，望著彩燈亮光隨著滿月升起，一朵朵蓮花燈悄然蕩漾湖上，一切都歸於平靜祥和！是的，就是在這個尚不為人所知的高地上的小鎮，荷思比亞，我們團聚，我們回歸至心靈的故鄉。在這裡，為濃濃的幸福之光所籠罩，感受無比慈愛與關懷，因爲在一片黑暗的世界裡，我們擁有光明的傳承。我們是幸福的。祈願從自己每一個人把光散播全世界。在光明的領航，黑夜也無足為懼！

敬愛的佛教城建設成員，會員和朋友們，大家吉祥！

2023 聖天湖活動將於7/3-7/4 日舉行！包括高智爾球賽，園遊活動和 4日傍晚的供彩燈與放水燈！六月中各組的準備已陸續就位。這是在聖天湖工程期間，第一次嘗試著舉行對外的活動，也算是為未來的聖天湖佛教城的經營初試啼聲。

在準備的過程中，各方報名聯繫時我們也才了解到很多人對佛教城的意義與性質並不了解，以為就是蓋一座正法寺寺院。其實，聖天湖佛教城向政府申請批准的是一個以佛教文化為主題的旅遊勝地！將以位於聖天湖畔的主寺 – 古佛正法寺 – 為核心，周邊圍繞著9大教派噶舉、瑪倉、禪宗、淨土等的寺院，配合世界各地的佛教中心，中國、西藏、日本、印度、緬甸、泰國等各不同風格的建築樣式、佛教文化、歷史藝術、教學等等，也就是一個佛教的博覽會。建設分兩期，第一期的正法寺、正行苑、瑪倉院及法禪寺都已分別由各單位自行進行設計送審報批中。大家在活動現場都能見到這些設計計劃！第二期預計2027年開始進行，將會包括30幾個單位，依循整體計劃各自獨立建設，除了各地的佛教中心外，還有很多的配套設施，提供餐飲、表演活動、教育學習等多元活動。未來將是開放給所有有緣的眾生來此舉辦各類利益眾生的德智體群活動，這裡將以成為世界佛教梵蒂岡為目標，駐持正法，並提供給所有訪客一窺佛教無限豐富廣大而精深內涵的機會，進而受益於正法之薰陶與教化！使均沾法喜，同獲法益！

我們的家園 – 彩燈工作組

真不可思議啊！因著王怡師姐即興提出供奉彩燈之心意，竟然幾位志工一拍即合地就共同投入創造出了七月供燈會的彩燈！當然，畢竟只有王師姐一個人日以繼夜地在大太陽下，身著沈重無比的焊工袍，頭頂著厚重的保護頭盔，投入了打樣、造鋼骨架、焊接的工作，原來竟然是如此的大工程，令人瞠目結舌！眼見時間急迫，大家趕緊競競業業地學習參與裱布工作，眼看著一個鋼骨架蛻變成華麗莊嚴無比的彩燈在我們手上呈現出來，那樣的興奮真是無以言喻！歡迎大家到彩燈工作組的園遊攤位來一睹奇妙的彩燈製作！

2023 年7月3日-7月4日聖天湖見！

忙祿的六月，只見處處車塵揚揚，為了即將到來的團聚時刻，滿面的興奮與緊張！

走到聖天湖岸，捧一掌清涼的井水，抹去滿頭的汗水，抬起頭來，啊！蓮花竟然悄然地開了！期待著湖面水燈來相伴！聖天湖見！

July 4th festival is on the calendar, and we are receiving enthusiastic responses. People from
many countries are coming! As we are receiving inquiries into the project, we realized there are
misunderstanding as to what Buddhist town entails. Many people thought Buddhist Town is the
same as the True Dharma Temple. In actuality, the True Dharma Temple is the center focus of
the Buddhist Town, and together with more than 30 temples and centers around the world surrounding the True Dharma Temple will form the Buddhist Town to create a venue of
learning, exploring, experiencing all different aspects of the Buddhist culture around the world
and through history. It would not only become a home base for all Buddhists around the world,
it will serve as a fountain of resources of all things Buddhist for everyone. The development is in
two phases, with the True Dharma Temple, Zheng Xing Garden, the Machang Yuan (monastery)
and Fa Chan Temple being the phase one, and the remaining complexes to be the Phase Two. It
will host many regular and seasonal activities and workshops including religious, educational
and entertaining for the public to enjoy. It is a place created to benefit all beings!

Our Program – The lantern workshop

During the planning of the July event, sister Yi volunteered to create a large colorful lantern for
the ceremony of dedicating our graditude! It was amazing that she single handily created the
design for the lantern, welded the metal frames, and started the forming of the lantern with
beautiful silk fabric. Time is running tight, and we created a lantern workshop and a group of
volunteers jumped in the last minute to help cut and paste the colorful fabrics, and adorning it
with rhinestones and laces. The transformation from the metal skeleton to a beautiful lantern is
beyond amazement for all who participated! Thank you, sister Yi!

Busy groups working away at every corner around the lake, assembling the newly acquired
picnic tables and benches, new trash bins, testing the booth canopies, vendor’s installing more
power outlet for the sound track, creating a mobile stage, caring for the beautiful lawn. Day is
getting closer and lotus flowers are quietly blossoming as if getting ready to welcome our
friends from all over the world!

敬愛的佛教城建設成員大家吉祥！

今年冬天加州氣候異常，二月以來不斷暴雨又下了幾場雪，豐沛雨水自然也讓野草趁機橫行，急壞了駐地的Kent和郭師姐。如何有機且有效地對付野草也成了一大挑戰，Kent和Jason為了維護環境美化正努力研究實驗控制野草方案，以避免過去野草除不勝除的困擾。三月初初放晴，佛教城中就處處桃花李花爭相怒放，一片春意盎然美不勝收。工作人員和志工們也正忙於草原植草計劃，實驗噴水頭及與各個工程單位洽談，目前已選定廠家將於4月底前進行噴灑草籽，美化湖東岸一區，完成後希望在五、六月間就能提供大家戶外活動的一個新場地！

我們的家園 – 4月16日現場維護活動 – 紫荊花道

聖天湖預計於4月16日（週日）現場維護活動將如期舉行。為了對未來擬往返聖蹟寺及高鐵站採購之電動小巴更進一步的了解，我們邀請到廠商是日提供電動小巴試乘。當天將於聖蹟寺早上7:30發車，回程1:30自佛教城湖西南停車場發車返回聖蹟寺。乘客數共19位，有興趣搭乘的志工歡迎及早預定。本次活動除了例行除草清理環境，補種湖邊覆地植物外，將於正行苑路栽植40餘株紫荊花樹，並完成草原的澆灌系統安裝。歡迎大家週日出遊共同來參與，午餐提供！

敦親睦鄰走入社區

（1）聖天湖高智爾球隊與大草原

很多同學一直以來希望能來聖天湖打高智爾球，草原完成後就有更好的活動場地可以實現這個構想了！佛教城也計劃成立一支聖天湖高智爾球隊，除了現場練習外，並將邀請有興趣的球隊來此進行友誼賽！

（2）敦親睦鄰與招募英語志工

很多鄰居經常來詢問我們是否對外開放？是否可以來湖邊散散步？我們都會邀請他們進來籌備處喝一杯咖啡，看看錄像。他們經常萬分訝異，如此規模的計劃在此悄然成形中。去到湖邊更是驚喜於美麗的湖景！我們的目的就是為了利益所有眾生，包括為社區鄉親提供一個歡喜的環境，讓人們有機會沐浴於佛菩薩的慈悲法喜中，使心嚮往之。為此，我們希望於2023年底時，企劃一個邀請社區鄰居的同歡會Open House。歡迎有興趣參與以英語接引眾生的同學一起來參與學習實踐。我們將會於五月後開始進行籌備與培訓！

敬愛的佛教城建設成員，大家吉祥！

二月起佛教城加入了一位新員工Jason 李先生，以協助Kent師兄執行聖天湖日漸繁忙的維護及建設工作。Jason師兄年少隨家人移民來美，中英文俱佳。加入後積極投入各項工作，建立系統編組工作手冊，修護環境設備及協助現場工程隊協調，支援志工訪客，並將輔助建立相關資訊提供給大家。

敬請期待 – 正法綠洲湖東古佛正法寺用地於二月初進行整地，原本四處雜亂的土堆已經工程隊逐漸夷平，化為平坦的緩坡徐徐銜接湖水石岸，緊接著將於三四月間進行植草澆灌工作。在建築工程審批期間臨時能形成一個湖畔的大草原！提供給大家來此活動運動享受的美麗綠洲！

我們的家園 – 迎春納福喜相逢志工活動

聖天湖迎春納福喜相逢活動於2/12日舉行，60多位志工歡聚聖天湖，環湖分為7組，自動各就各位展開忙碌修剪枝椏環境整理，迎接春天的到來。2月初正法寺用地經平整地形後，一片開闊氣象煥然。為了展開大草坪植草工作，大家忙著把零星雜物清除，填補凹洞，拔除野草。湖西遊戲場的果樹也終於得到一點關愛，連結瑪倉院果園加入環湖步道景觀，期待屆時春花怒放，熱鬧非凡！香噴噴美味素配方咖哩飯、珍珠奶茶、吉祥發糕、愛心素粽，在湖畔早春藍天溫煦陽光下享用，天涯海角共聚於此一小院，惜福惜緣惜相逢！
